Whole family is switching to vaping...need help with machines.

Ok so here is the deal, my family and I are switching to vaping due to my first child being on the way and due mid June and because from all accounts it seems much healthier.

Anyway went to a local vape shop today and tried out some of their different flavors and eventually decided on a few. Their parts were fairly overpriced imo though so I'm getting them online instead, we are trying to keep what we need to start around $100 for 3 units. I have a few items that I'm looking at an would love you get some of the more experienced users feedback on quality, compatibility and if I'm missing anything.

I didn't see any rules against posting brand specifics so if there are rules against it I apologize in advance. The items I was looking at were:

Aspire ET-S Pyrex BDC Glassomizer

Aspire BDC Vivi Nova-S Pyrex Glassomizer

Vision Spinner 1300mAh VV

I'll be getting extra wicks when I buy also, but these are what I was looking at. So my questions are...

Are they compatible? (fairly sure they are)
Are they quality?
Is there anything else I will need to get started?

Thank you all for the help in advance and thank you for having me on the forum.

you can talk about all the products you like, as long as your not trying to "buy, sell or advertise" the product in any way.

the spinner is a decent battery just make sure you get chargers, i dont think they are sold with a charge cable.

i really like this tank Kanger Mini ProTank II w/ Removable Drip Tip
i like a really easy draw so i drilled out the air flow holes, takes like 10 seconds per hole if you have a drill and a vice or locking pliers, ( i would not try to hold the base with my fingers well i drill out the air holes)

the protank coils Kanger ProTank & Evod Coil Replacement **5 Pack - 2.2 ohms are simple enough to put new wick in, you will need 2mm wick and 1mm wick to refurbish it to the factory design, but some people like myself like to take the 1mm wicks out and not replace them and just use the single 2mm wick (replacing the wicks will save you $$$ in the long run) it costs less than 10 cents (vs. more than a dollar for a new coil) to replace the wick and the coil will work like brand new if done properly. i replace the wicks every 2-3 days. but some people can go like a week on one coil. i get wick from this website Lightning Vapes - All the RBA Materials you need! Silica Wick, Ekowool, Kanthal Wire, Stainless Steel Mesh and more!

Discountvapers.com has some really good deals

Thank you for taking the time to reply. So the wicks need replaced every few days? I was told they only need to be replaced about every 3 weeks. What about the coils? I guess I was thinking the wicks and coils were the same thing lol. And I was wrong it's extra coils that get bundled with the tanks I mentioned. Sorry still really new to this, didn't know anything at all about vaping before yesterday.

the factory coils will probably last you a couple of weeks depending on use. for new vapers i always suggest Kanger Evod Starter Kit very simple quality product for entry level.

it is fairly priced and has everything you need minus the liquid.... best of luck

the coil it self will snap but only after a long time, one coil can last months but the wick gets clogged up with gunk and produce little vapor that tastes bad. 3 weeks seems like stretch. but it really depends on how often you use it. i would say i get about 8-10 mL of e-liquid per wick.
the coil heads are just a resistance wire wrapped around a silica wick that is contained inside a housing. the e-liquid is absorbed by the wick and heated by the coil and vaporized. for the protank coils i remove the top tube and pull out the wicks and let the coil and coil base soak in an airplane bottle of cheap vodka for a day then rinse it off under hot water and let it air dry. then i take about 3/4 inch of new 2 mm wick and well holding it with a pair of tweezers i torch it with a butane lighter. this torching process removes anything unwanted (dust, skin oil ect) and insures a clean tasting vape. then i wet the new wick with a drop of juice and twist and push it into the coil gently. basically like threading a giant needle. then i put the top tube back on and trim off the bits of wick that stick out of the base the bottom of the coil head and its done! sounds more complicated than it really is. once you have the parts in front of you its pretty self explanatory.

nice vape dojo has that kit back in stock. yes this would be a good place to start. you might want to pick up another charging cable or two because that kit comes with 2 batteries but only one cable. 5 coils lasts me like a year because i replace the wicks but you may want more coils. (this kit uses the evod/protank coils)

Wow thanks a ton for the link, think we will be going with a few sets of those instead of what I was originally looking at, 3 sets would be right about at the price point I wanted also, ty again!

Yea that sounds fairly simple, ty for the detailed response, I look forward to see how it all works in person.

The items you are looking at are good ones to begin with...check out discount vapers...they have good prices and there is a lot of information on the site that is helpful.

The Ego kit that 2naphish recommended is a really good deal and quality product...although the battery is smaller than the one you are looking at. (which means more frequent charging depending on how much you use it)

If you don't go with a kit...make sure you get chargers! And I would recommend each person should have 2 batteries. You will need a backup to use while your first battery is charging.

There are lots of you tube videos on how to clean coils and wick for whatever clearomizer you end up getting. Depending on the type of juice and flavoring it can gunk up your coils and they will need cleaning. But they will last a few weeks if you clean them.

Agree with the advice pointing you at Kanger Evod, and also the Mini Protank 2. It's great that the coils/wick units are interchangeable. Also there is lots of help about here and on youtube on the rebuilding of those coil units; you can change the way a mini protank performs with some wick, wire, and some youtube links; it's all great fun too.

Well I put in the order last night. Ordered Kanger Evod Starter Kit X3 for a total price of $102 shipped to my door! Who ever said it doesn't pay to shop around? The estimated delivery date is tomorrow which we are really excited about. I went to my local vape shop the other day and sampled their liquids and picked out a few. The three I picked are eVo Black Diamond 10ml, AltLiquid Sweet Tobacco 15ml and Five Pawns Gambit 30ml which I thought was amazing! I'm thinking the Gambit is probably what I will puff on most often. Just hoping it goes well for us, we have all tried quitting smoking many times and nothing seems to work.

Realized I forgot to mention the mg after reading this lol, got all 3 liquids in 18mg so I'm hoping that is high enough to stave off smoking as we are all heavy smokers.

Wow! That's great and fast!! I think you will really like them. It's a great kit to start off with.

It's great that you got several flavors so that you can switch them out when you need a change. Hopefully you got a nic level that will keep your cravings at bay.

Let us know how it goes once you get your setup!

Well, if it isn't you can go up a little more, but it is a good place to start. If you find that you are vaping much more than you smoked (because you just enjoy it and/or enjoy the flavor you have) and the nic is bothersome you can go lower.

You can still smoke if you need to. Everyone is different and it is a process. Others stop smoking the day they get their set up. Just remember to kind to yourselves and that everyone may be at their own pace.

Let us know what happens. There are lots of people here to help!
