Welcome to ECF and Congrats on your first week of Cig Free. Keep it rollin. I would invest in an Aspire nautilus Mini and a five pack of 1.6 ohm Replacement Heads. They will deliver the vape that your looking for in taste and vapor, and not hurt your throat as much. But keep in mind as I'm sure it was mentioned within this thread; your throat will be slightly irritated for about two weeks as your body gets used to not smoking. But keep the faith and strength up; your body will thank you with a nice long life. ;)

Thank you, this really helps me understand the lingo :)

Hey No Problem.

When someone is New, it seems that 1/2 the Battle is just trying to Understand what the Heck people are saying when they Explain or Answer Questions. We use so many Abbreviations and Lingo that it can be Very Confusing.

This Post can Help with that...

Vaping slang and acronyms

The tank that came with your iStick 50w is an Eleaf tank not dissimilar to what I've been using for the last 3 weeks. I prefer it to the Mini Nautilus (have 3 mini Nautilus'.)

18mg in the K1 should be spot on. You can drop to 12mg for a less aggressive Nicotine hit.
Vaping takes a bit of getting used to. Better to find it a bit harsh and get used to it than drop your Nicotine level too quickly. 12mg might be no problem. 6mg could well be pushing it. If I want to vape 6mg, I need to vape at 20w minimum... or I do get cravings.

This is the tank that came with the istick 50w, its unbranded, does anyone know which tank it is and how you open it to fill??? no instructions as second hand
I have no clue what brand that tank is. It does look like a bottom fill sub tank (use LOW nic juice in it). Higher nic juice will be very harsh in this tank.

To open, hold upside down, grasp the glass in one hand and then unscrew the bottom part. The bottom part should have a "coil" (atomizer) in it when you unscrew the top with glass. (sometimes the coil will unscrew attached to the top, no biggie). The coil should have markings on it on the side, like the name brand and resistance (.5 ohm?) or possibly the recommended power range. That would be the only manner I would know to buy new coils for this tank.

To fill keep upside down. Make certain the "coil" (also known as a coil head or atomizer) is snugly screwed into the bottom of the tank. Fill the top part of the tank up to the "chimney" the center tube in the top part. Then screw the bottom with the coil back onto the top.

Coils are meant to be primed. Inside the coil head is a wire and some cotton which sucks or wicks the juice to the wire for vaporization. With a new coil we usually drip a few drops of juice directly onto the cotton when the coil is in the bottom part BEFORE reattachment to the top. Then after filling and re assembly take a few UNPOWERED draws to suck the juice into the coil. We usually let the tank sit right side up for about 5 miunutes so natural wicking can occur. Then turn the power down on the iStick. Take a hit, bump it up and repeat. If it gets to taste funny, too warm or taste burnt, back the power down. Once you toast the cotton in a coil all you can do is replace the coil. This is pretty much the same method you will use with every vape device you will ever use.

The "mouthpiece" is called a drip tip. 90% of drip tips will fit in it (standard size is called a "510" drip tip) However I have found in a couple circumstances the Aspire brand drip tips are not interchangeable in many tanks of other makers. Cheap ($1) 510 drip tips will probably fit this larger tank. I swapped out all of mine for a more narrow drip tip as I prefer to mouth to lung vape and really don't enjoy feeling like I'm sucking on a car exhaust.

You're doing great by the way :)

Keep an eye on the information on the screen.

my guess is there isnt good electrical contact;
the k1 is ego threaded, so to use on the istick means you have to use the adapter.

the screen should show up something about the resistance if there is poor contact.

It's no mystery. It's the tank Eleaf sell in the UK with the iSticks.
It uses the 'Pure Cotton' coil heads that fit the GS air, the GS tanks and the others.
You can set the air-flow for MTL or Direct, use the 1.2 or 1.5ohm heads and tootle away. It was never sold as a sub-ohm tank.
Totally Wicked sell it with lots of stupid names (CS head, CS tank) so they can charge people more for Eleaf stuff.
I just looked up the heads (at Totally Wicked), they are £4.99 for 2. I pay £5.99 for 5.

I used the Eleaf tank tonight, myself.
Lemon Meringue Pie at 14 watts. It's a total winner.
Hands down better than the K1.... learn to love it, it wants to love you. :)

To be fair its just the size of the mouth piece 'drip tip' ;) iv learnt its called now, that i cant get on with, the K1 is smaller and just feels right.
