Right now I'm running a 70/30 vg/pg mix and loving it.

Just wondering the ups and downs of going 100% vg.
I've heard talk of PG tasting better but being all throat hit and no vapour.

Are any of you using 100% VG? Do you have to vape at a higher wattage to get the juice to cook nicely?

All your comments are appreciated!

I vape 100% VG juices because I cant handle PG. I personally love it. They say that VG blends are harder to wick but that has never been the case for me.
The biggest difference vs a blend with more PG is it's going to taste a lot sweeter, and you will have much more vapor. You will loose the throat hit, but that can be supplemented with a higher wattage or more nicotine. I would DEFINITLY recommend a full VG blend. Try it with a dessert or bakery flavour for maximum flavour potential. Nothing better then spewing out big white chocolate clouds :D

Sent from my iPhone because I'm awesome like that.

My ADV is classic menthol 100% VG, I get no gunking either and I love it.

Awesome! That was my big worry because Menthol 60/40 is my ADV and I thought maybe a 100% VG Menthol won't give me the same satisfaction! Anyway I'll find out within the next 24 hours because Vape Mail is on it's way!

I had problems with PG almost immediately and it was really tearing up my throat. It was also bothering my girlfriend. My box from Velvet Cloud came last week and I'm loving it. The vapor is more dense and no more sore throat. It tends to be a little thicker and slow moving in a tank though. I rewicked all my Protank 2 Mini's with cotton and it has been smooth sailing. I got some 90% VG from Ahlusion which has also been good and I think 10% PG is going to be my limit. Only downside I've come across so far is that it limits your options somewhat. Ran across plenty of popular juice vendors yesterday that don't even list the percentages or or have an option to tweak them for that matter. Right around 7w on our MVP2s and Ecoms.

I had only tried blends before today, but had been wanting to try some 100%VG. So the other day I placed orders with 2 stores:

Alien Visions E-Juice - They do most of their juices 100% VG, but they have some that use a low % of PG to infuse flavors that won't mix with an all PG juice. They begin the name of any juice that has PG in it with PG so you won't accidentally order any with coolant in it. I haven't received that order yet but am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. One of the juices I ordered is Boba's Bounty which has many vapers raving!

Velvet Cloud Vapors - They not only make 100% VG juices, but they've taken it a step further and only use all organic ingredients. This means that the strawberry flavor comes from strawberries, chocolate from chocolate, etc... Exactly what you'd expect from a company in San Francisco. They also add a little distilled water which adds some throat hit.

I received my order in 2 days (live an hour away). From them I ordered:

Mewlew's Magic Blend - "An amazing and enigmatic blend of chocolates, cream, butterscotch, doughnuts, and fudge."... It's as delicious as
it sounds without being too sweet.

Stawb-Gwab - "
A rich and unique blend of Strawberry and Guava." It's my new favorite fruit blend.
Burley Beard Tobacco - "Our simplest simple tobacco flavor. Based on flue-cured Kentucky and Virginia tobacco leaves as a base - it
begins with grassy, fresh tobacco notes and steeps into a much thicker, densely flavored blend. This naturally
flavored tobacco e-juice will give your analog tobacco a good run for it's money in taste!" I had been looking for a
tobacco flavor that tasted good, up until now the only one I found that was decent was Sahara from Apollo, but this
one is really good, the grassy note is intriguing & growing on me. Looking forward to tasting it after some steep.

Candy Bars - "A Sweet, Thick Blend of Peanuts, Caramel, Nougat, and Chocolate." It tastes like the description.

They also threw in a sample of Caramel Swirl, which I haven't tried yet since I don't have another clean Atty @ the moment.

As for coil resistance & voltages, I have one in my nautilus with a 1.5Ω coil which needs a low voltage to not burn it... a regular ego battery works great. I have one in a tanked carto with a 2.6Ω coil which needs a higher voltage, running it @ 4.5V. The other 2 are in protank coils which work great @ regular voltages. I had read somewhere on here that they don't wick too great and that taking out part of the protank wick works great but when I tried that I had some flooding, but full wicks are working fine. One of my protank wicks was shorted, so I disassembled & rebuilt it & used sterile gauze cotton, this is the first time I've used cotton & I think I'll be doing this with all of my coil for now on. In the picture below you can see how I twisted it up to pass it through the coil, I then folded both sides over and left the excess & it is working better than a silica coil.

I'll also post this in the review section & will review the AVE-juices when I get 'em.

Cheers,
Michael

Some of my favorites come with a set ratio but when I have the option I always go 100VG. Love the thick, heavy feel it has. IMHO you can't go wrong with Velvet Cloud and Highbrow. I've had 100VG in a REO, Nautilus, carto tank, Iclear30s & Davide and all of them can handle it. I am careful to let juice soak in for a while before vaping a new tank.

100vg here all the time. It dry you out much much less than pg, any pg and I get dried out. You don't have to drink a gallon of water like you do with pg. Power is similar. Vg actually saturates the coil a little better. A small wick adjustment may be needed to accommodate thicker juice. You may Need to add 3-5% water depending on your set up.

Boba's Bounty is my absolute favorite. I will also say that i have never gotten anything that i did not like from Velvet Cloud. I have been hung up on the peach tea. Sounds strange but it is pleasantly satisfying.

Only downside I've come across so far is that it limits your options somewhat. Ran across plenty of popular juice vendors yesterday that don't even list the percentages or or have an option to tweak them for that matter.

I've recently found three UK suppliers who will make your order in 100% VG if asked for when placing the order (they mostly have a box to state any notes in regarding your order). The only PG will be in most of the flavours.
I'd liked the sound of some of their liquids but there weren't 100% VG options visible, so I emailed to ask if they had any flavours in VG, and the reply from three was that they'd make it for me if I asked.

So, always worth asking :)

I get really frustrated by suppliers that don't list the PG/VG content ratios. It matters a lot to some people.

I've been using 100% vg since I started, although I have tried 80/20 pg/vg blends. When I started, I ordered 24 mg nic, and quickly found that higher nic plus the higher pg was too harsh, too much TH.

I do have to change out wicks more often, I think. Some last a week, ten days, but some only 3-4 days. Even with distilled water it's thick, it's is something to consider.

I recently reduced to 6mg, and there isn't enough TH. I'm thinking of adding a little pg - maybe 30%?

I will say though, I agree with everyone who says vg is a little sweeter and goes well with bakery flavors. I'm wondering if the pg will be better for tobacco flavors.

My policy is if I have to ask I'm not buying it. They need to state clearly what is in their juice or stop wasting all of our times. I think it's hurting all of us and surely is not going to help with the FDA problems we are facing now. Even Halo is guilty of playing this game.
