I often recommend an iStick 30 watt (battery) with an Aspire Mini Nautillus or eLeaf GS Air M (tank). Videos below.

What are you looking for? More battery life? More power? Bigger clouds? More tinkering?

Switching from an Evod to something like a Subtank is like night and day. You might like it you might not. I'm more of tootle puffer and still use Evods often. A Subtank is almost too much for me. You will need batteries and a good charger.

Going the rebuildable route will require an ohms meter, wire, cotton, etc.

Just saying there are a lot of paths you can take.

You should get an unregulated box mod and a good rda.. such as a mutation, dark horse, or Buddha and make sure you buy good batteries... Sony vtc 4's are the goto on this whole forum but I have 4 efest imr's and they do me just fine..

Get an rda with a wide bore tip, you'll never go back to the pen style
So you think someone that has used an EGO style device is advanced enough to start playing around with that stuff?

I had no idea then bought one and I'm still alive aren't it? I still have both hands! The best way to learn is through personal experience.. trial and error..

I currently use my two kangertech evod starter kit (nr1). I'm planning on upgrading to something better, and still not spend too much on it. What would you suggest?

I'd suggest the iStick 30 or 40 watt mod with the Aspire Nautilus mini. Both are very user friendly and give a higher quality vape than what you are now using.

This is DEF the best recommendation IMO for someone who was/is at the Evod stage and wants to move "up" : You'll see.... a 30W/50W Istick and a mini nautilus will seem absolutely fabulous!

I feel that going straight to a rebuildable is a pretty big leap = no tinkering and not much work needed to maintain a 5$ Evod so the poster may not be used to devoting too much time to his/her equipment...unless it's a specific wish on their part to go that route I think that an Istick + mini Nautilus will bring a big enough change and a huge plus without requiring much of a change in habits/time.

I'm looking for something better, both in capacity, battery, vapour. Not so much in tinkering atm.

I have a lot of coil heads for the evod, is there anyone compatible with that? I'm not planning on buying a full set now, but maybe a tank first and battery later. So compatible with the evod battery would be a huge plus.

I went from evod/pen style to a 20w istick/nautilus combo. Great for me! I would suggest the 30w for OP,the 20w had just come out when I switched to it. Now I have a 50w istick (sent to me by mistake, I ordered the 30w) and a Lemo 2, which I'm in love with.
Does the nautilus match the evod battery and vice verca?

I'm pretty sure you can use the nautilus on an evod battery... it has a 510 connection, but you can always use a beauty ring to make it flow more smoothly. Google is your friend mini nautilus on evod battery - Google Search

The coil heads are not the same as the evod tank, so you won't be able to use those. Get the nautilus or mini nautilus with the Bottom Vertical Coils. The airflow is much better, the flavor and vapor much better. You might go through more juice with it, but it's definitely an upgrade.

I was thinking about nautilus by forehand so I may change to it. I don't want to spend too much at once, I don't have a lot of money as for the time being.

Thanks for all the replies, folks :)
