Why am I losing flavor when refilling my cartomizers?

I just went through the same thing. For 3 days my taste buds where 99% out of order. I couldn't tell the difference between boba's, gorilla juice, rafilicious or hype.

During those few days I did look at a old pack of cigs & the thought crossed my mind, maybe I can taste those. I just want to taste! Started unflavorabley vaping & convinced myself I know I wouldn't be able to taste those either, so what's the point.

Stick in there!

Oh, fell free to use my made up word (unflavorabley).

I guess it wasn't the cartos after all.

Today, I just got my 5v USB passthrough from VaporKings, filled a brand new carto with coffee and let it settle for 1/2 hour, drank lots of water, sucked on a menthol cough drop (since I didn't have any menthol flavored liquid) AND STILL NOTHING (but a whole LOT of vapor). No taste or sense of smell from the vapor at all except when I inhale through my nose. Even the formerly strong cinnamon flavor in Rob's Blackjack from Blue Mist tastes like a 3 day old piece of used gum.

I read that this can be caused by zinc deficiency and so I started taking a multivitamin with zinc today.

I expected to not taste well when I started, but not 5 weeks after quitting analogs. Fortunately, I'm not worried about returning to analogs b/c the vaping still satisfies the nicotine cravings.

I was wondering what caused it. Interesting. Thanks.

It will pass though. Tell you the truth I kind of got the blues when my buds blew out. But, I was so happy when they came back. Funny thing was when they started coming back I could still only taste on what seemed like the center of my tongue. I was even drawing to try to get it to hit right on that spot.

Vaping is so much better when you can actually taste it.

Glad your sticking with it!

Is everybody drinking enough water???? Losing the taste of flavors is almost always because you are dehydrated. It happens to experienced vapors, too. Drink lots more water than you think you need.

When my buds went kaput, I was drinking lots of water, gatoraid, juice, everything I could. It wasn't from dehydration.

It has something more to do then with just being dehydration. The op made a good point about zinc. I was guessing it was caused from years of smoking who know what in analogs.

To the op, do you by chance have a link of where you where reading about the zinc deficiency? I'd be interested in reading that as well.

I just did a general google search on loss of taste, but now I can't find the website that gave me the idea in my browser history. In general, I remember it discussed a taste test using some form of zinc solution that (it said) was available at most health food stores. You took the solution, swished it around in your mouth for about a minute and see what you can taste. It was simiilar to tghe infomration on this site Zinc Diagnostic Tests..... A guide to zinc deficiency tests.

I noticed my lunch of chicken noodle soup tasted fine today, but my Chicken Caesar salad for dinner was bland no matter how much salt & pepper I added.

I plan on going to the health food store tomorrow for the zinc solution and I'll let you know how it turns out.

Interested. I too seem to be experiencing this working the water now (as dehydration wouldn't surprise me in the slightest). I know it's not from analogues I quit those years ago with a mixture of cutting back and sheer willpower. The cravings for nic went away but the oral fixation never did. So I started to vape as an alternative to going back I'm a family man now and while I believe you can do what you want to yourself I also feel that you can't make that decision for someone else.

Hope you get your taste back I'm in to see how this turns out.
by chance do you have lower resistance cartos I've had some juice that had that I couldn't taste or smell on the inhale/exhale but I could smell the juice out of the bottle and in the vapor, while using my original 510 setup. Switched to a ego battery and some dc cartos and the same juice was all kinds of different. I'm currently using boge lr though because the smoktech seem to be qc'd poorly.

Heck I finally got my buds back, but after reading more in to it, I'm going to use a little zinc any way. Thanks. I've been reading some pretty interesting things since you mentioned that.

I'm happy for you wyette. And thanks to everyone for their reassurance on the flavor returning after some time and a lot of water.

GNC didn't carry any type of liquid zinc so I wasn't able to do the test.
Still no taste today. Ironically I just got in my first supply from BWB (melonbacco, frothy toffer, and, of course, caramel cappucino).
