I have pretty much quit analogs. Haven't had one since 9/28 and the week before that I smoked one pack the entire week. Now that's good for someone that smoked 2 packs/day.

But lately I'm hungry all the time. That is NOT good since I'm on a diet. Never had this problerm before quitting and was wondering if anyone else has also noticed an incease in appetite when quitting analogs?

I noticed the same thing myself. I was a 2 1/2 pack a day guy for 14 years with never going a day without a smoke since I started and stopped completely the day my 510 kit arrived at the door. For me its because I am bored which is why I smoked so much. Like when sitting at the computer like this I use to chain smoke and now still have the motion of looking for a cigarette still out of habit. The only other thing that sucks about not smoking analogs still is how many smoke breaks I use to take at work now I get so much more done that I am running out of work too fast and watching the other guys just sitting around smoking sucks since I can just stand around and do nothing just the way I am. Keeping gum on me helps or a tooth pick helps. Whenever I have the urge to eat I just get a piece of gum and it goes away. It will get better just have to remind yourself its just a urge to replace the cigarette and to ignore it or replace it with something better then just eating.

You are in withdrawal, very simply, it's a nervous stomach sort of reaction...can also be attributed to the thyroid kicking up a bit (I mean up-wards, toward hyperthyroidism) It's not a serious thing unless you give in, same thing happened to me for almost two months after starting vaping. I blamed it on the PG, but that isn't it. I have always been a bit hypothyroidal, if that's a word....it's something you just need to be aware and tell yourself "I'm not hungry, it's just my metabolism!" Don't overeat. Drink plenty of water, and do eat a lot of extra fiber, fruits and raw veggies. It will help. I was also a very heavy smoker, 2-3 packs of light 100's on short days, more on others....after 44 years I was very thyroid depressed, dry skin, dry brittle hair no matter what I did, low energy level, etc. So many little things I didn't realize. After I found out about this, it made perfect sense. Smoking does that. It helps a lot just to know what's going on, but if you're concerned you may want to have your thyroid functions checked. If you're like me, it does even out after a month or so.

Kate51,

Interesting since I am hypo and taking meds for it. Will watch this then in case meds needs to be adjusted. Thanks for mentioning it.
Down with some more meds! :D I'm 62, 5'2", 147# (ya, little over ideal, but I'm post-menopausal so that's another story) I just took my BP ~ 108/63, pulse 70. No Meds. Have been sucking coffee all night. Not in too bad a shape, actually. Chucked a bunch of firewood today. Cooked two meals and cleaned/vaccumed/dusted/laundry. Usual stuff for Sunday, and I didn't get my nap either.
But yes, keep your Doc updated because the meds may be causing too much of what they're supposed to be doing after smoking cessation?! I only go to DR's if I'm sick, no insurance. So can't help much there. I just sort of have to go by how I know I feel.

At work it is a grab and go kind of action, I wish I could keep a water bottle at my desk.
I know my intake has gone up to record levels and people are asking if I am diabetic, I explain I am trying to quit smoking then they are cool with it.

Toothpicks are essential, serves many purposes... chewing action, hand to mouth action and I have cinnamon flavored.
NOW if my boss was not a puckered cat ring, I would be using one all day and not struggling when talking to problem customers.

Unsalted taco chips, or light salt triscuts. OMG they wear the jaw out, but my addiction and loads of fiber. win win.

:shock:I'ts wierd but some how I'm having the opposite problem it seems the foods Iliked the best now taste so much more flavorful that it gets overpowering and I can'teat as much of them as I used to.
Also I don't know if the PV and VG are providing enough sweetness to my pallett but my cravings for sweets has gone way down.
And I hate to say this for fear of scaring anyone off but chocolate isn't the craving food it used to be.This has turned into a real plus for me as i've lost 11 Lbs in two weeks. My Wife want's to shoot me.She tries all these diets and has to kill her self just about to loose any weight.
But its not My fault. But I have to say the veggies are so much more tasty and satisfying.

Using the patch, gum and other methods, I ballooned to over 200 pounds. Using the 510, I haven't gained a pound and don't notice any change in eating habits. I think it's due to the fact that using an e-cig satisfies ALL the senses. You get the nicotine 'hit,' you see the vapor (smoke), and holding the device satisfies the tactile sense. It's just like smoking, but without all the disadvantages. If you must have something to nibble on, try rice cakes or saltines??? I know...LOUSY TASTE but at least they're not fattening.
