why are LIPO batteries not as good as 18650s?

Yeah, but a 2200 mAh 3S Lipo is HUGE for an ecig mod. The battery alone is larger than my SnowWolf with the Freemax Starre tank on top. Most people aren't going to want an ecig mod the size of a 1980s mobile phone.

It is a big un. Mines in a CNC 1590B box so its not unweildy.

Another batter stat example. take the 900 mah 3s lipo in the Vaporshark dna200 at 100 watts

Battery power capacity @ 11.1 V 9.99 Wh
Estimated total runtime 5 min
Estimated # puffs @ 5 sec puffs 65

Or the Hcigar 1300mah 3s

Battery power capacity @ 11.1 V 14.43 Wh
Estimated total runtime 8 min
Estimated # puffs @ 5 sec puffs 94

"We" aren't. "We" seemed to find what works for us. Why not offer everyone else a little respect while they find what works for them?

There is no disrespect in pointing out this simple fact. Vaping doesn't require a "Goldberg's mythical machine".

"None of Goldberg's mythical machines is remotely practical. "As we move forward along the gadget-strewn path of mechanization we become more and more aware of the general theme, DO IT THE HARD WAY," he once wrote. "The more trivial the product, the more complicated machine."

So tell me, what's "practical" about a PV requiring 3 batteries to work?

i kind of see where he is coming from. it seems that many criticisms about the current batch of DNA200 lipos devolve into these discussions due to unrealistic discussions. people want the ability to (but wont necessarily do) everything possible at all times. if you want something able to vape at 200W, all day, with easily swappable batteries, and in a compact form factor it just isnt going to happen with current technology. each person has their own ideal setup and features.

my ideal mod would be able to have about 8 mins burn time at under 100W in as small a package as possible. going with a higher capacity dual lipo setup would probably give the ideal results. however, that doesnt exist yet. i imagine by christmas the market will be flooded with various DNA200 devices and 99% of people will be able to find one which suits their needs whether it be using lipos or 18650s

Here's the thing, TJ....I agree with you. Just like I almost ALWAYS agree with you.
I'm all for practical. I don't own any regulated devices anymore. I don't own any tanks anymore. All I own are metal bottom feeding mechs with bottom feeding drippers. It's what works for me. To me, that's practical. To others, its a gigantic money pit.
There's a group of folks that really don't care about "practical".
It wasn't practical when we were using aquarium foam to make an Atty work. But its why cartos evolved. It wasn't practical drilling out drippers to get more air....but its how rdas and rtas evolved to what we all enjoy today.
Maybe this new batch of impractical vapers will be the group that pushes battery tech to the next level. I think we can all agree that there's room for improvement there.

Im all for practical too, but for me right now my best vape is from my crown rank with a .26 head in it at 85 watts. Second best is my dripper at home with a .2 dual coil at 80 watts. By the time I get home from work my batts in my Raptor are needing changed out. If I can go Lipo and get my batts to last all day + at the levels I vape at and get a pleasing vape TO ME, that is what I want. This is all how innovation works. people get one thing and then start thinking How can I improve this... If we dont like that simple concept, lets all go back to driving a model T. no more innovation needed.

Look back at when Vaping was just starting... it was a bunch of Horrid Ecig lookalikes and such. Modders started modding tube flashlights to make mech mods. people were using alkaline batteries... then people discovered the 18650 style cells. look how those batteries have improved through the years. Now people are looking for the next improvement. Im all for it. If you dont like it, and you already have found your perfect vape, congrats.

Practical for you might just be anemic to me.
