I now have a total of 13 BCC's (16 if you count the three I've given/loaned to friends).
Not one of them has produced a leaking, vapor production or flavor problem that wasn't caused my me doing it wrong.
I've used stock, factory
coils and those I have built myself. I've used silica wick at 1mm, 2mm, 3mm and cotton wicks rolled to 2.5mm. I've also used 30 and 32ga Kanthal A-1 resistance wire.
Maybe your personal preference is for the warmer vapor and different experience of the top coil systems. That's fine. It's all a matter of taste.
But maybe somewhere along the way, you did something wrong with the BCC's.
Have you:
Cleaned the
tanks and coils to rid them of any manufacturing oils or residue?
Checked to make sure you aren't frying the coils with too high of a voltage?
Checked the resistance of your rebuilt coils to insure that they are not too low?
Made sure that the flavor wicks installed across the top of the coil are intact and working properly?
