If i'm not a RE RE and i don't try and recharge them, what would be the harm of using NON RECHARGEABLE CR 123 a batteries? what would be the issues? how is this anymore dangerous than rechargeable 123 batteries?

I just want to test them and see if i even like the 6v experience before i order them online (protected rechargeable ones) and wait for them.

Also, if someone could help, i went to batteries plus and they had two of these.

Are these safe? if so please let me know..

Please take a look at our very comprehensive Battery Information for mods page. It lays out the reasons why you should never use primary cells, only secondary cells (rechargeables), in a mod. Mainly it's because sooner or later they might get charged by mistake, and there is a serious risk a cell will explode the first time it's used. It's happened, and injury resulted.

If you make sure to throw them away immediately they've been used, then maybe ordinary batteries would be OK.

The link you give to Batteriesinaflash .com doesn't work, do you mean their UltraLast CR-123 2/3A 3V Rechargeable Battery Li-Ion ULCR123R cells? These look to be wrong on two counts:
1. They are unprotected Li-ion cells.
2. Few (if any) CR123-sized Li-ion's can safely run an atomizer, they just don't have the C rating needed.

This size of cell is too small to be safe in a mod unless you use an AW Li-Mn or maybe Li-FePo4 cell. The C rating for normal Li-ion cells is only about 500mA or half an amp, but it needs a 1.5amp rating to be safe. This is why mods with two CR123 cells have the worst safety record of all, many explosions and battery meltdowns have occurred in this format. If there is any kind of fault anywhere, the batteries are stacked and so over-stressed they can blow.

Sure, the manufacturer may say that the cells are powerful enough, but some of the battery capacities quoted are pure fantasy. You need to be aware that makers lie, and you're maybe betting your eyesight on whether you can trust them to be honest. $5 on an almost certain lie vs your eyesight? Not a bet I'd take.

If you get a mod of this format, then the safe thing to do is only get one that AW IMR 16340 cells will fit, and don't buy anything other than those cells.
