So, I have neem shied away from rebuildables. I was always so scared of them and worried it was too much work. I have been vaping for over 3 years and graduated from carto tanks to Protanks. I was still using 306 attys. I was so unsatisfied and even went back to smoking for a few months. I bit the bullet and bought a Reo and a Reomizer, built a 1 ohm coil my first build and I was smitten. I though it would be so hard, but, dayum it was easy. I bought a Kayfun and a Tobh atty. I am in heaven. I only have to build coils once a week or so and whenever I change flavors in the Kayfun (which I do often), I just change my cotton. It takes me literally 5 mins to change cotton. And the flavor and clouds, OMG! It took me hours to clean my Protanks and dry burn my coils. Not to mention the cost of new heads.
Sorry, I'm on a rant and I'm stating the obvious, I just put fresh wick in and I am so excited. Anyone who is hesitant about rebuilding, don't be! It's so easy and worth everything. I spend less time fiddling and that makes my family happy, too!

I have only been vaping for 2 1/2 months, I bought 11 (yes 11!) iclear 30's because I wanted to have several flavors to vape at once, and the cartos just weren't giving me enough vapor, and I was pulling my throat muscles to get a decent hit.

I decided to get an RDA, and took my first inhale the other night. It is a whole nother world, the flavor & the amount of vapor is amazing. And I just built a single coil 1.7 ohm, might shoot for a 1 ohm next.

Now if only I can find a way to figure out how much nicotine I should use, because 6 mg is way too much. I even made it to a 3 mg, and it still was hard on my throat [emoji20]

I've only been vaping for a few weeks however I have a decent understanding of the mechanics aspect of building. Can anyone recommend a good topper to start with? Which would be the easiest to build on? Thanks

if you want a dripper, any that have holes in the posts and a grub screw to secure the wire, i'm not sure if that makes sense, but the magma has these holes and grub screws if you want to look up an atty to see what I'm on aboot.

they are a million times quicker to build on over wrapping the wire around a screw and tightening it.

if i've told you once, I've told you a million times, don't exaggerate

Howdy BigCap!

I doubt that your problem is the amount of NIc. I would bet good money that the problem is from high PG. Try adding a bit of VG to your mix. It will not only lower the Nic. content of the juice, it will smooth out the harshness. You can adjust the amount for the throat hit you want.

It is easily found a CVX, and some walmarts. (Usually in the pharmacy) , being sold as a baby lotion, or in the skin care section as a lotion As well as on line at ECig suppliers.

Exactly what I was thinking. They sell VG at a lot of stores. Ask them for "Glycerin Skin Protectant". It's 100% USP grade VG.

Just a forewarning to everyone in this thread, building on a regulated device can be foolproof, but safety comes first.

If you plan on using your RBAs on mechanical mods, please do yourself a favor an educate yourself first.

Grab your favorite vape and read up on this - E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

Then practice your Ohm's Law and do some 'Solve for X' equations ;)

Hey Knife, thanks for the comment! I purchased some diy stuff from wizard labs. It was 12 mg nic in pg, and I just cut it in half with the vg to get to my 6mg, so I do have some vg some on hand. I have even made some 3, 4, & 5 mg of nic, and with the lung hits I have been taking, the 3mg is just too much. I did add some drops of vg but it took away most of the flavor, and tastes a little off to me..

The more important question is what do you know about battery safety, ohms law and amp limitations? You should start a new thread for your question so this thread does not get hijacked.

hey k*rose, i rebuild my protanks with cotton, about a million times better than the factory heads, but not as good as a kayfun.
but I prefer the protanks, because the protanks use less juice than the kayfuns

I don't see myself working in a space that small. That's gotta be rough. I agree with you though, I change flavors a lot so I would prefer smaller RTA's. I'm gonna order a nano drop tank for the Kayfun eventually to help with this.

I was a 12mg vapor, but now 6mg is doing me perfect with a 50/50 blend.

I'm about to hijack the thread right now, because this has never happened...but me and Chesty seemed to have quit cigs on the same exact day .. :toast:

there's a guy called dave who has the same quit date as us, dave and i both joined efc aboot the same time and we both use halo and hangoot on the halo forum.

I always clean my kayfun at night before I go to bed, because I leave very early for work and have two kids to get ready. Last night I fell asleep before I did it. So before I went to work, I disassembled, cleaned, burned/cleaned coils, changed wicks and refilled my KFL+ and it took me literally 20 mins. I was shocked and ecstatic.

once you get the hang of it , it takes no time - on a simple 3 post deck like the tobh you mentioned I can have rebuilt and ready to go in about 5 min - I love dripping

I love the TOBH and dripping, too. Just not convenient at work. The dual coils take me a little longer, though.

Curious. You clean it every night? Is that really necessary?
