Thanks everyone for the reply. I'm still gonna consider myself a none smoker. Usually when I do pick up I smoke 2 Cigarettes. And the past 2 times I have done this I have gotten sick off of them within an hour. That should tell me something right there. I'm vaping 6 mg and 12 mg.. Have about 30 Different flavors and and a few bottles of 18mg. I use reg batteries twist batteries a couple of I taste and recently got a k-100 for dripping. and a Itaste Lilly. I haven't found the freedom vape shop in Great bridge yet. Can you tell me where it is...
Also the last Smoker in my house moved out yesterday so I'm sure that will help Somewhat too. Not smelling them Burning all the time. I do like the way they smell when they burn....lol And it will help with some of the stress. I have one pack of Cigarettes left in my Freezer. I think maybe I should throw them away. Or give them away. Since I have Quit Smoking I have helped 6 other people to Cut back and quit. So good has come out of it...

I dunno... for me, once the [whatever] is all gone, I start to panic, feeling "locked in" -- when I quit before, there were still 12 cigs in the pack; I told myself I could smoke them if I chose to, if I really needed to, but I chose not to -- that feeling of MY PERSONAL CHOICE is key, for me. Of course not everyone responds the same to addiction. Since my illness and temporary reversion to light smoking, I'm now just about at the point of giving them up again -- which is great, because there's still over half a pk in the open pack I've been smoking from -- I plan to put them in the freezer, so that if I really feel the need, I can smoke. But having seen for myself how much harder it is to put them down a 2nd time (it was a piece of cake the first time!), I think I won't be nearly so quick to give in.

It's the reason I never even tempted myself to smoke one in the last year. In the first place, if I found that I liked it, I'd be back to smoking again. Don't want that. In the second place, if I didn't like it or if it made me sick, I don't want that, either. Either way, I want smoking cigarettes to be a closed chapter in my life. Vaping is all good for me, wish it had been available decades ago.

There are times even long after quitting where a sudden urge can sneak up on you. It's sort of like being an alcoholic, it may get easier over time, but you always have to be aware that you were an addict. In fact, I think those sudden sneak attack urges are worse than when you first quit. In the beginning you expect it, and are more preapred for it, after a few weeks/months/years you are often taken by surprise and weak. Try to avoid it when you have that 'urge' for at least an hour... surprisingly the urges do not seem to last long, and if you can wait it out even for that long, you can often avoid it. Try to avoid it, because you are really just starting the cycle over on yourself, and prolonging the torture.

However... DON'T kick yourself if you slip. You're human and at least you are continuing on and not letting it destroy all your work by just giving up.

Sure can......it's 450 S. Battlefield Blvd, South of Cedar Rd on the right hand side directly across from the middle school . It is in a small strip mall and right next door to Domino's.

I started vaping 4 years ago. It took me a couple weeks before I put the analogs down completely. In that 4 years, I have purchased maybe 4 packs of analogs - usually because my previous e-cigs were on the fritz, forgot my juice, battery died, etc. Recently, my daughter moved back in and she smokes the same brand I used to. That has been a real challenge. I have had a few since she moved back in, but I am determined to stay away from them entirely. Everyone is different, and we all adjust independently. I am thinking about upping my nic level from 4 mg, though. That will help me get past my daughter's analogs. I'm just grateful the analogs smell so bad, that's my best deterrent!

I had one every so often for quite awhile mainly to see if I still wanted it. The last one was at 7 mos and tasted so terrible I had to put it out.

Aye, there's the rub...to see if you still wanted it. The issue with that is...if you still want it, you'll still smoke. And for those (like myself) who still loved smoking but wanted (needed!) to quit, if I still wanted it, I would never have put them down. Therefore--I just made the decision to quit and never tempted myself with any cigarettes.

The day will come when you have finally had enough and just never try again.

We would hope it works that way, but I know people who still dual use after more than a year. There are quite a few people on this forum who still struggle with ending just those last few daily cigarettes. Just in my case, I think if I had given in and left myself open for the option of smoking one or two occasionally, I might not have ever put the cigarettes down. Abstinence is just my only choice. And I'm proud to say I'm smoke-free over a year now and cannot STAND the smell of smoke. I haven't been tempted to smoke in many months now. I know sometimes an urge can just come up out of the blue, but when/if that happens, I'll just vape my way through it and use nic gum alongside if I need to. I'm pretty sure my lungs couldn't handle it anyway.

I think everyone has to work it out however it's good for him/her.

I smoked for so long and from such a young age it was almost for me like I had never been without them so it was a whole new experience. Once I started vaping and discovered my smelling ability again there was no way I would go back. The last cigarette I had just reinforced how nasty they were and I had to go brush my teeth and use mouthwash afterwards. I think it does you good to reach that point. There is no way I would ever go back. Every month when I might spend 100.00 for vape gear when I used to spend over 300.00 I pat myself on the back.

Today is my 18th day with no real cigs, and I'm SOOO happy about it! I still have that ONE lonely cig sitting in my jacket pocket, waiting for me to smoke it if I REALLY want to, and I don't. No depression over it, no anxiety. That certainly is a change from the last time I tried quitting smoking, pre-vape days.

I picked up one of my Fin e-cigs today in the car after a visit to my local B&M to check my eGo-C Upgrade battery AGAIN, and was so irritated at not having my more portable device, and the tobacco/menthol taste was so gross. When I got home, my iTaste 134 mini was there waiting for me, with my MBV Extreme Ice, and I was all happy again. I now know that having a juice I LOVE makes a big difference!

Joesquid. Made it to the freedom Vape store in great Bridge today. They make there own Juices... Thats cool... I bought 3 of theirs and one of another brand. A 18 mg... so when I do get a craving i'll vape on that hopefully. Thanks everyone for the reply's. I still consider myself a non Smoker. and plan on staying that way.

So can i say I'm a non smoker... I feel like i am. I still have smoked one every 2 to 3 weeks since i quit. for 2 months now. When i do smoke one one it is mostly for stress relief. I guess this is my Confession... I just know this i don't ever wanna go to back to it on a a full time or part time basis
Deb

Look at how many you're NOT smoking. Not everybody goes "cold turkey" the first day. I took maybe six weeks to stop smoking completely. But now I'm a year and three months smoke free with no interest in going back.

When I was a "noob" here, people said, "Count the ones you don't smoke, not the ones you do". It was one of the MANY good bits of advice I got here.

i consider myself fortunate. i've been vaping for 6 months and haven't had a cigarette since i started. i did it on a whim while in a smoke shop my friend works in. i vape 12 to 18 mg juices. i consider myself a FORMER smoker. don't give in and go back. there's lots of interesting flavors you can try to make cigarettes not so appealing. i still get the urge for a cig now and then, but then i think i'll probably get sick or turn green. hang in there.
