So my first two weeks of vaping I did not smoke one analog. Actually the thought of an analog made me cringe. Week three I wasn't sure what happened I just went out and bought a pack of cigarettes. I smoked a few every now and then and quickly realize the whole pack was gone. I was doing so well the first two weeks. I am definitely switching back to 24mg vs. the 30mg that I am currently vaping. It seems the 30 is very harsh, I even get light headed from it. I am starting to realize that right when I switched to 30 is right when I went back to my Marlboro blend 27's. As I am typing this I am vaping (in my non smoking hotel bwhaha). I am getting back on track starting today. Wish me luck!

Think of all the ones you DIDN'T smoke rather than dwelling on the ones you did - don't expect to stop over night - why not just aim for 'cutting down' at first? Remember PV are an alternative not a quitting device - its just that the side effect of using one often results in quitting. Go at your own pace and dont stress - find your right levels without putting yourself under pressure. Trust me it works (see my quitting-against-my-wishes date lol)

Totally. Don't dwell on it. If you tell yourself you are trying to quit, it'll just make you want to smoke more. Nothing puts the pressure on a smoker more than saying you can't smoke, right? Try to think of it as switching brands, you don't have to quit anything - you're just choosing a different brand. One that comes in a variety of flavors and won't kill you. :)

I agree. I guess I just put myself quitting on this high horse and when I messed up I let it get to me. I am not going to kick myself down. Thanks you guys are the best:)

Look at it this way: you had two weeks of success with not smoking. A relapse doesn't take away from the abstinence you achieved for that period of time (if abstinence is your goal). I hate it when people feel like their slip up means that it was all for nothing because it isn't true. Besides, you're an adult, you're allowed to smoke cigarettes and I for one don't judge anyone who does. It might help if you change your frame of mind to one that says that you choose not to smoke today instead of feeling like you can't smoke. Sometimes believing that we aren't allowed to have/do something has the unintentional consequence of having the allure of forbidden fruit. And smoking a real cig doesn't make anyone 'bad'.

I think the main reason I was kicking myself is because in this small town I am pretty much a walking advertisement for these electronic cigs, So when I would would smoke a analog around my friends or bars etc I would get the occasional "wheres your ecig" "I thought you quit". I guess I just let it get to me.

Yes but I thought original post said in hotel. I assume you are travelling and none of the "townies" saw you. Therefore no harm, no foul. So in their eyes you still vape and it is that guilt thing driving you nuts. Don't ask, don't tell, don't worry. Get a good juice maybe go online and order some new vaping toys and forget about it! Best of luck

Oh this has been going on for a few days, I have just had time now that I am away to think about it and do something about it. I absolutely love my french toast from freedomsmokesusa but its 30mg I think I am going to order the 24 and a few other tasty juices.

Well, I'm sure they will see you again with your e-cig and if you want you can just tell them that quitting tobacco is a work in progress for you. Me, I'd probably lie and say that I misplaced my e-cig and got desperate. I'd act like I hated the analog and couldn't wait to get my e-cig back!

A bit off topic: I really wish people would learn to shut up when someone relapses (not that your friends were shaming you in your case). When I quit I never told anyone or made a big deal about it b/c I didn't want to witness the pearl clutching and finger wagging that ensues when someone relapses (especially coming from non-smokers). For the life of me I've never seen one person change their addictive behavior because of being shamed or bullied about it. It becomes a power/control issue instead of a legitimate concern about your health. I confront the shamers and tell them to quit pretending they are doing it for the benefit of anyone other than themselves. Since the shaming doesn't make anyone quit, the shamers are only doing it to feel self righteous and that offends me more than someone else's inability to quit smoking.

@crumpet: I'm totally with you again.

One time I even started on the patch (again) and I'd go outside for 5-10 minutes every couple of hours just so people would think I was still smoking and not ask me how my patch was working out or say how proud of me they are... as I sit there in pain suffering and wondering how long it's going to last this time (but always hopeful that it would actually work this time - which it never did.)

I completely agree. Quitting analogs cold turkey the way I did even surprised me. Ecigs have helped me out a lot but they are not a overnight fix to quitting analogs. My husband recommended that when I crave an analog to vape a tobacco flavor I am going to try this and see if this helps. I am going to start keeping fully charged spare batteries with me and prefilled carts so I will not have to make an excuse to myself as of why I need an analog. As for my friends and acquaintances they apparently have no clue what it takes to achieve what we are doing here. I guess it takes a vapor to know a vapor:) or should I say vaporer... hmmm lol.
