Well congrats on all the ones you're NOT smoking! That's an achievement! As for why it seems to happen every 2-3 wks... apparently it's well known around here that "3 days - 3 wks - 3 mos" are "trouble spots" that seem to correspond with certain percentages of all the various chemicals in cigarettes, among them MAOIs, having left the body, making those times real trouble spots for those trying to quit the smokes. I've experienced the 3 wks and 3 mos ones, but I didn't feel any particular urge to smoke, but felt very depressed -- apparently MAOIs are commonly used as anti-depressants, so when the body clears them, I guess it just feels depressed for a while. Fortunately those phases don't seem to last long; maybe a week or 10 days, tops. So you shouldn't kick yourself if you feel compelled to smoke during those times; that 3 wk one was ROUGH! Just be glad you're not smoking all the rest of time, and keep trying!

So can i say I'm a non smoker... I feel like i am. I still have smoked one every 2 to 3 weeks since i quit. for 2 months now. When i do smoke one one it is mostly for stress relief. I guess this is my Confession... I just know this i don't ever wanna go to back to it on a a full time or part time basis

So, is the "one" you are referring to in your post mean one carton, one case, one pack or one cigarette[emoji16]

Kidding! For me, it's all or nothing. If I have "one" I may as well have a million. It is not even a slippery slope. It's an iced over downhill slalom course with no breaks.

There is no fence sitting for me. I am in or I am out. Currently I am IN since 5/26 which is a miracle.

I hope you find what you need here. I am not making a suggestion to you either way. I am relating how it is for me only.

Best of luck and hope you find what you are looking for.

I echo your sentiments. This is exactly how I feel, too. I smoked my last cigarette the day I picked up my starter kit, and haven't lit one up since that day, January 1, 2014.

Welcome and I wouldn't be to hard on yourself, you are doing a great job. I happen to keep a nic juice around that I call my "reserve nerve" juice that sometimes I need in order not to hurt anyone. :D I think this helps me just knowing it is there if I need it. Since you are only having one every couple of weeks I don't see increasing your regular nic level. To be honest though, I can't imagine they really taste all that well. I hope I ever forget how bad the last few I had tasted. :) Good luck to you and let us know how you are doing. You happen to have a huge support group here. :D

Hey Debra,

don't count the ones you smoke, count the ones you don't!!!! The less you smoke the better. Depending on what you smoked (analog), maybe you want to keep some real strong 24 mg juice for stressful situations, that's what helped me.

Keep on vaping, one day you'll be ready to kick the habit all together and quit! Keep trying juices, then keep trying some more - it took me a whole year of vaping-while-smoking and I finally found a juice that did it for me. Juice alone wasn't the solution though, my last hope after trying all the cartomizers etc. was to build my own and I finally bought a Kayfun and approved battery, ohm testing equipment and off I was to building my own coils. That did it for me and I haven't had an analog since.

Keep the faith, count the ones you don't smoke!

Cheers,
Pete

It's all good. Just relax and let this happen. You probably didn't introspect when you got into smoking, so don't analyze this too much. Your body is going through some changes and there's some chemical volatility afoot. Let all that sort itself out as you feel yourself settling in to the new you.

You feel better when you vape, yes? So live for that. Revel in it. All the rest is just noise.

some people can drop the ciggies as soon as they take a draw off of a vape, and there are people who need to taper off of the ciggies over several months of time.. its the mental aspect of the ciggie addiction that is the hardest to get over... when you feel the need to have a ciggie, vape a bit more and if that doesnt cut it, have a ciggie but try doing just a portion of one ( 1/3 - 1/2) and pick up the vape to finish off. eventually you might prefer the vape more than the ciggie. You might want to consider buying a juice with the next level up on nic... say you are doing 12 now get an 18 or 24 nic for the stressy times, put the higher nic juice in its own tank and mark it somehow to signify its your "Stress Juice" :)

I, too, have found myself having just the rare occasional analog when I'm feeling REALLY anxious. It's not enough to even but them, I have had a pack of analogs leftover from when I started vaping full time in May. I have looked into the WTA juice and ordered a small bottle of a flavor that I like to try it out. I'm thinking that I need the calming effects of some of the other chemicals in the analog. Nicotine in larger strengths can cause some nervousness and anxiety. I was a nurse for over 20+ years and the post by AndriaD is very true. :thumb:
Keep up the great work and don't kick yourself about having an occasional analog. It happens sometimes in the beginning.
I have only found one site that carries the WTA (Whole Tobacco Alkaloids) so far. It is Aroma ejuice. Does anyone know of any other vendors or sites to get this type of juice?

Completely agree with ICE101

I moved to Rochester NY from Baltimore MD about a year ago and immediately starting vaping. However, everytime I go back to Baltimore, which is every other week, I end up smoking a few cigarettes.

The last time I went, I packed my Kanger mini pro tank with me and loaded it up with 24mg, I usually vape 12mg all day. It really helps with the urges to want to smoke.

Wholecig -- and you can get the unflavored WTA for a lot cheaper than Aroma's, and it's also a stronger mg formulation -- actually they give you a choice, 17mg, 21mg, or 25mg. I'm getting this next, so I can also add it to sweet flavors! :thumb:

It's just the nature of addiction. Both cigarettes and e-cigs contain nic BUT the nic is delivered differently via cigs then it is with e-cigs. And cigs contain many many other chems that e-cigs don't and your body may still crave those other chems. Cigarettes were your "drug of choice" (so to speak) and your mind/body is reverting back to it.

For all practical purposes I stopped smoking the day I discovered vaping. Every once in a blue moon I would find myself drawn to picking up a single Hav-A-Tampa (I smoked cheap cigars) at the corner store, but I found myselk having that desire less and less.

Sometimes intentionally denying yourself something you want just makes you want it more, instead of giving you the opportunity to fulfill that desire and maybe realizing why you may want it less in the future.

Don't beat yourself up about it. Everytime you don't smoke is another opportunity that you didn't smoke!
