I tried the Kanger T2 and it had a weird (not burnt) taste our of the box, it seems to add an undesirable note to my vape.

I even filled it with juice and let it sit awhile.

Meanwhile, my vivi nova never had this problem.

Could this be bad wick/coil material? It's weird because I also have a T3 and it doesn't seem to have this problem. You would think they would use the same material.

Or does it just require "break in"?

Try "powering through it" for an hour or so. I haven't used anything but rba's for about a year now so I can't remember what it was like before these, but all my wicks take some time to break in and the good flavor start to appear. I mostly use cotton, which takes longer than silica to get rid of the wick flavor, but even a fresh silica wick has some break in time. They could just be old, who knows how long the vendor had them b4 you got them, it may just take a tank or so to start tasting good.

This is what I've experienced. The ones I've gotten seemed to take about a tank to really start getting good flavor to shine (MT3 and Stardust). The only exception is my Vision Vivi Nova which was great out of the box, though it did improve after a tank or two.

I've been rinsing the new out by using 190 proof Everclear. Just disassemble them, drop them in a container with enough to cover everything and swish it around, then remove and let dry. Won't take long and drinking the leftovers is optional.:toast:

That seems like an excellent idea. How long should I soak them for? an hour?

Would you recommend dry burning them as well?

I think so, but I'm no authority on it

In my experience every different juice delivery device tastes at least slightly different than the next with a given juice. Having said that, if taste is really off, something is wrong. Dry burning, or a PGA or Vodka soak and burn should fix it. If it still seems really off I would stop using it, get in touch with the supplier and talk it over with them. I've never had this experience. I do find that top coil clearos like CE4's (Stardusts) and VN's taste different from cartos which taste different than stainless steel wicked RBA's. But it's not huge, just noticeable.

Hope this makes at least a bit of sense!

I would swish the head around in there for five minutes and then dry gently with a paper towel. Give it about another five minutes to evaporate, dry burn it gently, fill and vape after another few minutes. Keep the voltage low at the beginning or let it sit a few more minutes before vaping.

+2 always remember to do this with any new product. Make it a habit ;).
