I much prefer to mtl and have a nautilus 2. I also have a cleito which I use occasionally. All sub-tanks I've tried taste amazing. Why do they make juice taste so much stronger and lovely flavour.
Wish I could find a mtl tank that tastes as good
Any advice
Because the coil is bigger....... and bigger coils vaporize more juice at a time.

I much prefer the taste of MTL vape than DL. To be fair, I don't enjoy inhaling all that vapor at a time, but probably you are tasting it more because there is more of it. I found that yeah, I could taste a LOT of flavor in the Cleto tank I briefly used, but it wasn't the same complexity of flavor as it rushes over my tongue quickly on inhale and exhale.

With that said, I do own a kabuki, so flavor-wise, it's a hard to beat tank, though I am finding the more I vape, the more I have opened my airholes, in any case, for a slightly airier vape. I doubt I'll be transitioning from MTL to DL anytime soon, however.

I think it's 100% personal preference. Maybe adding more PG as a flavor carrier might do something for you MTL-wise, but perhaps you are simply discovering that at the very least, you are enjoying both types of vaping for different reasons. Maybe a crossover tank or an RTA that can take middle-of--the road builds might be nice for you, as well. The Coppervape hussar clone is pretty versatile (you do have to pay attention to which style you choose, there are several) and has an easy to build on 2 post deck. :)

Best flavour I've ever gotten has been from MTL devices - and specifically I'll name the Immortalizer RDA by Chief Vaper Pat as the king in that department, ancient and discontinued though it may be.

Just no getting around it. DL works better for me, so I vape how I gotta. But man, there is just no comparison. The right build on a quality MTL device will crush DL flavour atties every time, using WAY less juice to do it, and I'm eagerly awaiting the day that isn't true.

No, there's considerable overlap. Not just with crossover tanks (like in that 0.5--0.7 range, but suited for MTL vaping) but also folks who enjoy both types of vaping. I can't really say for sure if I'd hate DL at this point, I only tried it early on, but I am finding I'm liking an airier vape than I did, BUT not crazy clouds as yet.

I might return to trying it at some point, to see if I like it. But many DL folks own MTL tanks too because they like them OR they are easier to stealth vape, or take to work, and MTL folks who've come to enjoy a different vape as well. :)

A sub ohm tank will give more vapor. More vapour equals more flavouring. More flavouring equals a stronger taste. Not necessarily better flavour, just more of it.
I dont get better flavour when i use DTL tanks, i get more of the same flavour.
Sometimes using a narrow bore drip tip will direct the vapour to a particular area of the tongue which can be perceived as better flavour.
And that, my friend, is my opinion :p

Why do sub-tanks taste so much better than mtl

Simple answer is they don't. It's a matter of personal preference, build, atty and taste. I vape a mech at 1.25ohms and it has so much flavor, I have to cut the juice. Personally, most sub ohm tanks burn too hot and it mutes the flavor for me and leaves me wondering why I have a mouth full of hot steamy bland.

Can anyone recommend a mtl that gives good flavour. I use a nautilus 2 with 0.7 coil at the moment.

RBA or premade coils? If the former, Kayfuns are hard to beat, IMHO. But there are other very good RBAs on the market. If the latter, eGo One with 1Ω CLR coils is a nice choice.

Because your taste buds prefer that vape style, and I wouldn't worry about the gear. If YOU like it, any way, don't be concerned with what a label says.

Nothing...NOTHING like a big ole DTL Sqonk draw that leaves water dripping from your nose and sweet strawberries tingling the taste buds with the wife squinting to see you through the clouds.

Heaven, Nirvana, Valhalla....whatever wherever it's just the BEST.

For me :)

Those would be my top ones for each type of coil, too. I love my little KFL "shorty" tanks with a short bell cap and a coil anywhere from 1.2-1.8 ohms. In the eGo One tanks...I use the 1.0 ohm CL and/or CLR coil, then rebuild the CLR to the 1.2-1.8 ohms. Both give really good flavor, IMO.

Exactly how I build/rebuild my coils; 29 or 28 g Kanthal, ~1-1.5Ω, 2.5 mm ID, Japanese organic cotton or rayon, ~10-14 watts or a bit more or less, depending on the juice. Except I don't bother with CL coils--CLRs only.
