I generally steer clear of the 'electronic' mods because there's nothing that can really go wrong with the mechanical mods, but the electrical ones seem to have perpetual switch problems. I get frustrated when my electrical switch fails for one reason or another but don't understand why they do.

Is the problem usually caused from juice getting in the works or just wires getting loose or disconnected? And is there no way to prevent these problems with electrical Mods?

People usually have problems with underrated switches. If not being used with a mosfet, most recommend a 3A switch, as smaller switches tend to burn out and need replacement...

Using a sealed connector like Demon said, and an overrated switch or a mosfet with an underrated switch, shouldn't have any problems except, like Demon said, how 'good' the switch is, that is, the number of 'clicks' it's good for, and the possibility of getting a defective one... And of course, how well it's soldered is also important...

I don't know if I'm a modder now, maybe 1/2 of one since I re-did the Little Gem switch because of failure basically having it buckle-in on itself and it was just a setup that was just asking to be dissected (bottom/switch part).

To go with the thread, I guess sometimes it's the user. I should've known that stuffing the two cr2's would've done something like that. For the eGo's, now I'm conscious of the "drip fingers."
