Is this is a widespread problem, or am I doing something wrong. I tried vaping them anywhere from 3.7 volts to 4.8. They all taste terrible.

No mention of Coil resistance
No mention of e-liquid Ratio
No equipment Specifics

Wild guess, you are buying, assuming and not learning.

Please give specifics and someone will be helpful.

You need coil resistance? Did you not see the voltage I'm vaping at? I started at 3.7 which should not produce a burnt taste at any resistance. Liquid ratio is usually 80/20 pg/vg. Sometimes less vg. Equipment? Ego clearmoizers ce-4 and vivo nova. The newest ones whatever the heck you want to call them.

I will say that I have no problems (yet) with a CE5+ clearomizer that does not have an exposed wick.

I have used bcc and ce's and just got a set of vivi mini's included with a purchase. I thought the juice I got was bad, until i put a familiar juice in them...same thing, nasty burnt type taste. not really like a burnt dry hit, but more like it changed the flavor of the liquid. I tossed both of them. I'm thinking it was the manufacturer, they didn't look genuine.

I Use Iclear16's/2 ohm,@4.3 volts even up to 4.8 volts. Never had a problem with burnt taste. What ohm do you have?

Ummm........Yes
Every detail Helps. Like you are using a fairly thick mix. That means you need to increase available juice to wick. You can also reduce burn by increasing resistance if you are using all LR coils.
Even 50/50 can give burnt dry hits on a top wick if you don't keep the tip/twirl going.

Study your wick placements and see if you can relieve pressure(open up) to get more juice to the coil. If additional un-coild wicks, remove one and test.
If Silicone cap is pressing on the wicks cut small v notches to relieve pressure.

Your Non-exposed ce5 is actually a 6or7 or higher.(Love all the cross numbering) True ce5 is a serviceable Ce4(comes apart)
The center tube on yours has Holes in the side allowing juice to flow in at all times, like a carto tank.

No need to snap at people for wanting information to give educated answers rather than just throw useless information out.

ETA-If the Vivi's are not Genuine VISION they may be junk and need a lot of tweaking to make work decent.

Hopefully this doesn't come across as stupidly obvious, but did you wash it out before you started using it? My T3's and ProTanks needed some cleaning before I used them or they tasted like poop.

If it is stupidly obvious then ignore this post as I was never here...

80/20 seems like a rather thin mix to me

Dislexic mind today:facepalm:

I had a lot of dry hit issues, easily burned -eliquids with lower cost Ce5's and a Vivi type tank. All were corrected by getting the wicks freed up. The Ce's were/are notorious for silicone cup pinching the wicks once the top is tightened down. Ce4's were worse in that you had to fish the cup out and fiddle to get it back in.

Running a short wick Ce5 now @ 7w 4.10v 2.4ohms so it is all about keeping the juice flowing.

Good point, and needs to be repeated often for new people - clean before first use.
