Why does it take so long to charge my Vision Spinner 1300mah?

It takes 18 hours to charge one of my 2000mah 18650 batteries. I have a Trustfire TR-001 battery charger.

My AW 18650 IMR batts charge in about 5-6 hours or less at 500mah if I let them run down to 3.2v before I charge them. I usually take them out of my Provari when they reach 3.5v. 3-4 hours and they are done. I also have a Trustfire TR-001.

If it takes that long to charge, you may have a TR-001 that came from the factory with an incorrect part on the circuit board. There's another thread on ECF where an electronics tech ran current flow diagnostics on his and discovered it was charging at 160mah. It's a manufacturing parts issue. You might want to check with your vendor for resolution. Maybe there's an exchange deal for the defective ones.

My PILA charges them in about 2 hours when I run 'em down to 3.5v. Seems like the PILA really charges things fast----

From what I've always read, the "default" USB charging power is 5v @ 500mA.

It's not clear to me if eCig charging adapters are smart enough to use USB chargers rated for more than 500mA as there's usually a handshake of some kind involved in determining if the port supports more than 500mA, so it may not do any good to use a charger with an output of more than 500mA.

The Spinners use a separate charger, usually rated 420 - 450 mA.

USB ports on a computer have a specification to provide at least 500 mA at 5 VDC.

The charger will ONLY put out what it's designed for, i.e. 420 mA, regardless of the capacity of its source. Plugging the charger into, say, a wall adapter that's capable of 2 Amps (2000 mA) will not change that, or speed up the charging. I use a 4 port wall wart with that rating so I can charge more than one device at a time. But each will only provide to the battery what the charger will put out.

And yes, around 4 hours is pretty typical for a 1300 Spinner when run down to shut-off voltage.
