I've been making my own juice for a long time but I have this problem.

I started vaping MTL at 12mg, then I switched to sub-ohming and lung inhaling and my juice tasted different. Not stronger or weaker, just different. All I changed was the nic level (lowered to 3mg). I didn't like it so I had to redo my all day vape juice but I could never get it to taste as good as the recipe for MTL. So I gave up on that recipe.

Now I want to do both, MTL and lung inhale but my juice was made to taste good lung inhaling and it tastes different MTL. Crazy right?

I don't know what to do to get the same taste for MTL and lung inhaling. If anybody else has had this weird problem I'd like to hear about it, especially if you can tell me what is wrong.

Nothing wrong, just different. My ADV that I do MTL, I do not like as a DL high power vape. Just does not taste right, but I love it MTL low watts. I just started making mixes that were better as DL and use them for that. I figured out that you have to mix the juice for the type of inhale you are going to do. I have ONE juice for my ADV that is MTL (love it), and a LOT of others I mix up for DL and a beer in the evening. Think of it as smoking cigs all day (MTL), and relaxing with a cigar and a beer (or wine, or) in the evening (DL). :)

how did you adjust your recipes? More flavor or less?
Couldn't get it to work for DL, my ADV only likes low power, 6 to 8 watts, and just gets nasty at 10 watts. :( I just ended up working on different flavor profiles for my higher power evening vaping. I am finding (still testing stuff) that using less flavor (combined flavoring of around 10%), I like better with higher power. JMHO

I've had the same results with my store bought juices. Some I stopped using once going to subΩ and some good in an Atlantis or Subtank, but go nowhere near TFV4/8 or my RTA's. It's been a trial and error sort of thing.

Now that I am progressing into DIY, I figure I will use that same process for each mix. A long, slow process, but experimentation can be fun at times. And spreadsheets come in handy! :D

I keep a 1ohm Achiles at 14w MTL and a .15ohm Nauti at 50w both filled with the same liquid side by side on my desk. Sometimes I want the MTL experience and sometimes the big cloud. Yes, they taste very different in each tank as temperature, air flow, wicking materials, chamber sizes etc. all are different on each topper.

My guess is the problem may be with the nic quantity. Could try to MTL and or DL with different percentages of nic in the flavor of question. See if there is a mix taste difference (recommend to do test on identical RDA's/heat settings, time of day/nite etc.).
I'm at MTL zero nic so I can't help you here.

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone. I was afraid it was just my taste buds. :D

I was thinking that I might have to make 2 different recipes but I was hoping I wouldn't especially since I couldn't get my MTL ADV to taste good for lung inhale. So @Burnie & @glasseye, how did you adjust your recipes? More flavor or less?
The simple answer is...I don't. I just use a different juice in one of my many attys on one of the many devices. lol I have one juice that tastes brilliant in a squonker at .8Ω and about 20W. Put in an RTA, lower ohms, higher watts and it tasted like shizznit. I think they all need their own sweet spot.

My daily vape tastes great in a Kayfun 3.1 or V2, but tastes different in a Squape or a Lemo or an Orchid. Go figure. I keep coming back to the Kayfun.

I can only imagine the difference when you switch back and forth from MTL tanks to DTL devices and maybe even add more VG for the cloud factor.
