Why does the atomizer do this?

When I have a new atomizer (standard one) and I vape with it the throat hit is really good but then suddenly after a while there is barely any throat hit but it vapes fine and a lot of vapor comes out. The vapor production is the same but somehow the throat hit goes away unless I vape really long inhales but that always reaches the cutoff time..

Does cleaning the atomizers , soaking them in alcohol work to make them feel brand new again? What is the reason that happens?

I am going to try soaking mine in pure grain alcohol. Mine is the same and has a hideous taste. I didn't realize how bad the taste was until I switched to cartomizers.

Sorta the same reason you don't notice the heat off a regular cigarette. Your body kinda...ignores stimuli you keep insisting on. By taking long drags you change the stimulus. That and once the atty gets going it cools down a bit thanks to contact with liquid. Combination of the two I'd think.
