Money. Plain and simple. BP makes less money because we don't buy "traditional" stop smoking therapies. BP makes less money when less people get sick and or die from cancer, high BP, asthma, COPD, etc. Big tobacco loses money from less people purchasing tobacco products. vaping is not regulated, therefore, does not have increased taxation attached to it. Revenue is lost to special interest groups as well. They want to regulate us under the premise of "safety" and "nicotine regulation" but it is really about them wanting more money from us.

Exactly! They don't care what we do or if we vape. It's all about money for them and always will be.

screwed up thing is that the more people who sign the petition, the more the gov will want the ban.
They can't want to ban them any more than they already do.
But they can be made to think twice about how harsh their regulations will be.

They have already tried to ban them once, and lost in court.
And I'd like to have them think that the court of public opinion will be their next loss.

It's a bad vibe in the forums lately. This black cloud of worry and panic is depressing. I for one am concerned and wondering. We need to make our connections with each other and create an underground market for trading and all around survival.... if you dont know how to dyi e-liquid, i suggest reading the forums. If you dont know how to rebuild an atomizer, again forums. I already have a mechanical mod and am trying to learn these things just in case. All we can do at this point is stick together and keep to ourselves. Stay positive

i own a gas station, and just found out that Lorillard (newport) just purchased Blu ecigs and are going to promoting Blu very heavily.

Very true, rj Reynolds is mum on their plans, and Phillip Morris is developing something. (Maybe I have it backwards). Regardless this is good news, as big tobacco has money and can and will fight the FDA (lorillard and rj Reynolds fought the FDA on graphic warnings, Phillip Morris actually wrote the law and now has people working on the tobacco board at the FDA. Nice eh?)

"Incestuous" is the nice word for what they're doing.

Big Tobacco was also responsible for putting the RYO machines out of business. It used to be you could go into an RYO shop, select your tobacco and cigarette tubes, have the clerk stuff both into a machine and have 200 cigarettes (a carton of them, but loose) come out of the machine in a couple of minutes. BT got the FDA to rule that those machines were manufacturing cigarettes without any sort of regulation. Poof! There went about 35,000 clerk jobs in the blink of an eye. Lots of those stores went out of business, and the owners lost their capital investments.

I wouldn't be too happy about Big Tobacco being involved. They'll want to wipe out all the competition to their products, i.e., nearly all of our current internet vendors and e-liquid makers. And they'll work hand-in-hand with the FDA to accomplish exactly that.

Welcome to crony capitalism!
