when the ban came for flavored cigs, which included cloves, it was specifically written so that flavored cigs could not be sold in the states. what the ban did not include was the import of flavored cigs from outside the states for personal use. iow, i continued to buy cloves from indonesia, and i was fine as long as i did not resell them. customs allowed shipments of up to 20 cartons. i'm wondering if the same would apply here.
Here is how I look at it...

People talk about using herbal smoking products, and how we can still get the paraphernalia needed in a local smoking shop, but those arguments are terribly misguided in my opinion.

Now you talk about getting cloves over the internet, and perhaps think that it might be the same with these products, if and when rules and regulations come down from on high at some point.

The problem with both of these lines of thought is money.
Nobody cares if people smoke herbal smoking products, and nobody cares if people smoke cloves.

And when I say nobody, I mean nobody with a lot of power and money who is losing money that would otherwise be spent on cigarettes or quit smoking pharmaceuticals that don't even work.

So if you have a product that works, and takes money from Big tobacco and Big Pharma, you have a recipe for people with a lot of money who care a lot.

And people with a lot of money who care a lot will find a way to stop you.
And if you think they won't, well... good luck with that.

I don't really see how they can ban them. They would have to ban nic patches, nic gum etc. don't think big Pharma would like that too much.We went thru this with Tobacco ,it used to keep me awake at nite and I refuse to let them do it again. So now we have black market tobacco coming in from Mexico and selling to small stores and they say it is contaminated with ....
well you get the picture. When will they learn that they're only imposing more risk than before.
