ok...been vaping for years....and now am back to being a low voltage and high ohms user....and with organic cotton and all of a sudden the past few weeks....I keep getting a burnt taste.
Using a Provari, or my Istick and a Protank-2 , and have 2.2 ohm coils and usually set anymore at between 3.5 and 3.7 volts. Having to change out coils or cotton every day
So what has changed???? Still use 65pg/35vg
Maybe I am getting done with vaping.....hope not I still do enjoy it much more than smoking...... ( which I have been away from for over 3 yrs now )

If you are re wicking stock replacement heads chances are you're getting the cotton too tight in the coil which causes reduced wicking ability.
Reduced wicking ability = burnt taste.
Have you changed flavors / flavorings?
Dark or colored and especially sweet liquids tend to burn easier & gunk coils rapidly.

I agree with trying a different delivery device.

thanks....will try flipping the grommet and lowering voltage again....I already use OC....rewick them right away after rec'ing them from vendor....... :)

Something possibly not right in your wicking.........or, have you changed Flavors? Gunking coils?

Have a good look at your next removed coil. It should tell the tale.

Burnt Cotton = watts to high or wicking to tight.
Gunked coil = watts to low or E-liquid issue.

From my experiance with the ProTank 2, the problem is the airflow from the 510, which simply doesn't work.
I got constant gurgling / dry hits until I changed the base to the one of the aerotank. The air coming from the side made it work.

The air still came through the bottom :)(of the coil)
The difference was Volume due to reduced restriction.

Wicking should just brush the coil - sliding easily side to side.
Wicking should just cover the side openings, fluffed

Never, in 3 years, had to flip a coil top seal. Though I slip them on loosely after building and let the Air Tube set to proper position, on installation.

I think one of my problems is the new OCC Kanger coils that I am buying are really GARBAGE. When trying to re-wick after first use the cotton always grabs the coil and destroys it no matter how easy I try to remove the original cotton.....wither the coil is really trash or they somehow wrap the cotton so it grabs the coil wire and destroys it...... maybe I need to go back to building the little coils again...but it's sooooo hard on the eyes and fingers those little buggers!!!!!
