Why hide the e-cig ?

Hello All!!
I live in a town with 10+ vaping stores and counting.
I see smokers everywhere and no one vaping
Is there some taboo or shame in showing your e-cigs?.
I personally carry one 'round my neck and one in my belt.
I'm I helping the cause or making it worse??.

I carry mine in a small flashlite holder on my belt loop... had several people ask about it and a couple seemed interested in swapping over to vaping.... no shame here....

Numbers, mostly. I've seen the very rare person vaping in public, but we don't seem to have a great deal of penetration amongst the smokers here. Over time that will probably change.

I use mine out and about. People don't really seem to notice or care.

I see folks all the time around here vaping in public. Went to a restaurant and told the waitress I was going outside to vape. "You don't have to do that honey. Folks do that in here all the time. But you (pointed at my brother) have to go outside with your cigarette." I keep trying but he won't switch.

I do live in a small town but still I've yet to see someone vaping in public except for myself of course. I know there are others vaping but they must be doing it in their closets I guess. I have no shame in vaping and contrary to popular belief, I think I look cool doing it

I've been vapeing over a year now in a small town. Just myself and my friends I've seen with mods. Except one time at a huge outdoor flea market I saw a woman with an ego vapeing. We were shocked! That was last summer, haven't seen anyone else since.

I see a lot of people vaping around here, but not much 'outside'. I spot people vaping in their cars often, and have seen a few eGo-style PVs laying in consoles and cup holders of parked cars.

I think people just don't want to look 'trendy'. Personally, I don't give a ..... I go my own way.

I had a lot of social anxiety up to a year or so ago, where I felt it necessary to conform to society's general standards to avoid humiliation. I finally started wearing my VFFs ("those crazy toe shoes") everywhere because I'm a barefoot kind of guy. Felt like an ... at first, now I'm just like "whatever" about it. A few guys laughed at me at LAX a few weeks ago, and I just shrugged it off.

Back on point, I think plenty of people enjoy it, but might be scared of being seen by the public in a negative light.

here in the big city hardly anyone notices out doors.i use the public transportation(namely buses)
and vape discretely.i have seen others on the bus openly vape.nothing dramatic a quick puff or two.
no one else on the bus noticed or plain just didn't care.it is against metro transit policy to smoke or vape
on buses how ever a bus driver friend has told me that if no one complains and they otherwise are
not interfering with the safe operation of the bus to just ignore it.the safe and timely operation of
the bus is a higher priority.they'll still nail you for the analogs though.

My wife will vape anywhere, anytime. I'm a little more selective, like not inside stores and such. Figure I'm just being polite.

There are a few of us who hang out at the convenience store where I work and shoot the breeze and see who can blow the biggest cloud. The owner said she has no problems with it and it really helps get me through the stressful times. But still I'm polite and stand kind of in the back when there are no other vapers around.

Strangely, only one bar is vapor friendly in a town of 1200 ppl!

I vape in restaurants, etc. I've not yet been told to put it away. Was at Bravo saturday, my wife hit the restroom so i started vaping (she's not ecstatic about vaping so i show respect at least). The server was interested, lots of questions, mentioned he sees it alot on campus. No problems.

Was vaping in a restaurant at snowshoe WV. Server was also a vaper. He mentioned costumers may vape, employees may not.

At work, some miserable old woman (really) complained about vaping so we now have to go outside. Caused a few employees to go back to the cancer sticks.

I openly vape outside, but inside I go stealth, and only then in what I call a "safe area". I usually keep my mech mod in my pocket, but am looking for something I can carry it on a belt with.... I know, small flashlight holder, but I'm looking for something more on the lines of a c-clip type setup.

To me, no. They feel extremely comfortable. You are aware of them for the first few minutes, maybe up to an hour if it's your first time, but they just feel so natural since they provide total natural mobility to your feet and all of its tiny bones. I wore them on a job yesterday while doing some networking in a new office, and after 11 hours on my feet, I had no pain. The same stint on Friday wearing a pair of good ol' steel toes had me crying for bed by the end of the day.

The only odd thing about the feeling is having your toes encompassed, but that sensation fades fast when you can feel your individual toes flex as you walk/run.

I wear them barefoot for short durations, but have Injinji toe socks for any longer periods, mainly just to deal with sweat.

I try not to create a negative scene. I don't want to give a bad impression of vapors. I try to be courteous and respectful of others. Just the same as anything else I do. If I am in a crowded place, I don't make clouds.

I carry my "lightsaber" around in my back pocket. People see it, sometimes ask. I tell them that it was the easiest way for me to quit smoking and that I have reduced my nicotine intake significantly.

Some courtesy for a good presentation of all users. We need that.

I don't hide my MVP2 at all. Out in public I get a few strange looks at first but some seem to tell its an E cig of sorts lol.
At work I don't have any problems at all wether in the office or out while driving my truck

Have actually had a lot of coworkers interested in trying an ecig so im taking them to the vape shop on Friday to convert some of them

Funny you asked - was at a stoplight in Raleigh this morining, and the guy in the car next to me was vaping away on his eGo - I gave him the thumbs up. I have seen a good number of folks vaping here. Went to Hinnett winery last fall in Pine Level, and we were setting on the porch vaping, drinking wine, and the folks at the next table, all 4 were vaping away - not to mention the 5 or 6 at work that vape - seems pretty popular here. Most every time I go out, I see at least one person vaping........
