Why is ali express as a single word censored?

I ran into this some time ago and I should have asked about it in here then. It's still a valid question though. Why is ali express as a single word censored? Someone on staff must know what ali express is to censor a reference to the website but, why? Alibaba isn't censored and ali express is just the more consumer based side of that site of that site. I realize that there is a risk buying there but, there are some good deals to be had and it's not much more risky than ebay. I've seen all manner of sites that are total ripoffs in terms of what is being sold for the price. So I don't get this one.

The only reason I can see for it is vendors probably don't like it.

It is censored because we were heavily spammed by "representatives" of certain manufacturers and suppliers using that site. There are also some US based sites that are censored for various reasons, too. Just suffice it to say that if a URL is caught by the forum censor, a conscious decision was made by the a member (or in some cases all members) of the Site Management Team¹ that ECF does not wish to be affiliated in any way with that site. This also includes denying them any "Google juice" they would gain from links.

I wasn't aware of the spamming but, if it was individual vendors, the site itself isn't to blame. I don't agree with the reasoning but, you don't need my approval. So, I'll thank you for the reply.

I just ran across another one a few minutes ago m-o-r-o-n is censored but, fool isn't neither is idiot. Strange

The filters are in place and each filtered word has a reason for being filtered whether you agree with it or not. The words just didn't randomly get put in there..

I'm closing this thread because well.. there is no point in beating a dead horse.
