see i thought the opposite. I had some Red Cow carts and refilled with Red Cow juice and i thought it tasted even better. and Apple Cart with Red Cow juice i think might be my new favorite! waiting to try a red cow with raspberry cart. I love to mix red bull with berry rain Gatorade. so i think this would get close to that. now off to kill a raspberry cart. :) and to order some more red cow juice!

I have been refilling cartos, just adding juice to them and they were fine, but yeah - nothing like a brand new carto. Then I decided to try the trick of running warm water through, blowing it out from the mouth end and adding 20 drops of liquid to it. WOW! What a difference! I am vaping an old vanilla carto, rinsed and banana juice added to it and this thing is a killer! Took me all of 2 minutes to do from start to finish!

I'm with JenJen on this one. This is how I clean my cartos and other than the Mint cartos, everything else rinsed clean w/o left-over flavoring. The Mint is strong and really requires like 5 cycles of blow, shake, rinse, and then dry overnite.

I can't accept the premise that a refilled cartomizer is less spiffy than a factory-filled one. I have had very good results with refilling, whether it's with the same flavor or not. I occasionally even top off a cartridge before it's entirely empty. No problems with either taste or vapor production. (French Pipe and Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured is a tasty mix, by the way.)

How did you get the JC juice to work? I tried to load up a cart with Tennessee Cured, because I absolutely love that stuff, but couldn't get any vapor and it tasted horrible. Hmmmmm, maybe I'll have to give her another go.

For the record, the only juice from V4L that I have ever had a problem with is a 20ml bottle of Capp that for some reason had a funky flavor and a 20ml bottle of Pear that had a lot less flavor. All of the 5ml bottles that I've used work very well for refilling. I also have some 20ml bottles of Vanilla and Banana that are delish! Most of the time when I refill a carto it tastes just like a fresh cart. When it loses that taste is when I know it's time for a rinse cycle.

I don't think so, but it is so easy even this blonde can do it! ;)

Just take the carto off the batt, pry off the mouthpiece and ring, hold under running warm water for like 30 secs from the mouthpiece end), blow it from the mouth piece end into a paper towel a few times, tap it on the papertowel and dry the part that you screw into the battery, tilt and turn it slowly as you drop from 15 - 20 drops in (you can tell it is getting full when it stops absorbing quickly into the batting) then put the ring and mouth piece back on and it is ready to vape.

(On one of my cartos, the hole down the center was a bit off center, I just used a tweezer to gently move it back into the middle. You should be able to see through the carto when you look through the hole.)

Is there a video demonstrating how to clean the Cartomizer?

Maybe. I didn't see one though on youtube. From what I've read there are many ways to clean one from bathing/soaking in polident to everclear to vinegar to diet coke. Then there's the rinse with water, don't rinse with water, blow thru it with compressed air, don't use compress air, to use a jewelry cleaner machine... All sorts of techniques.

Personally, I pop the cap, blow thru it with my mouth until no more juice comes out of the battery end, rinse under hot water, blow water out, rinse/blow 3-5X, let it dry overnite, refill. I might try the rinse and then immediately refill instead of let it dry overnite, just to see how that works out.

I heard those things to clean an atty on a 510, but never a cartomizer. Most people just advise rinsing in warm water as I described, or just blowing out the carto before refilling.

Jen-Jen's instructions are exactly how I clean/refill a cart when I want to switch flavors, except that I use a syringe and fill from the bottom up. I tend to overfill with the drip method.

On regular automatic batteries, I don't get a lot of vapor out of it. On passthroughs and the long manuals, it does much better. TC seems to take a bit more heat to get cooking. It's one of my favorites except that it doesn't come in 36.

You're right JenJen. I was just giving examples of all the different cleaning techniques out there and not focusing on only cartomizers. I pretty much use the same technique that you use. =)
