My joy ego-t cartridges usually make a lot of noise, like a whistle sort of. Sometimes this happens, sometimes it doesn't. I am so confused, would really appreciate help trying to figure this out.
I have only been vaping for a month, (quit smoking) I have figured everything out myself and with lots of help from this forum.

I have 5 ego-t's now, some 650 batteries, some 1000 batteries, know that isn't important.
What I think the problem is, is the atomizers or the cartridges causing the noise. I can reposition the cartridges like crazy when it is in the atomizer, doesn't get rid of the whistling like noise.

I have cleaned the atomizers out with rubbing alcohol(learned it on youtube), still no go. I just can't figure this out.
I bought lots of new cartridges, still makes whistling noise when I vape it.
Even with brand new, full cartridges, so weird and bloody annoying. Could you please help an old woman(43) solve this problem. I think it is the reason I'm getting more grey hair!!!
(just joking)

Unfortunately that's just the nature of the tanks. It's the atomizer that whistles, in my experience.

Is the the tank all you've tried? Because it doesn't give much flavor, and I eventually gave up on them after the atomizers started to underperform within 3-4 weeks.

Your Ego batteries can take any 510 threaded atomizer or cartomizer.

I have the same problem with one of my atties. Got 2 with my kit, and the other works silently.

I have to agree with Concat on this though. The taste you get from the Mega T atomizer isnt all that great. Yes they look best with the battery as it compliments the line of the e-cig, but you can do much better.

Right now i'm using Vision deux clearomizers and i'm loving them. No filler, just braided fiberglass strands to syphon juice to the element. They hold approx 2.5ml of juice, which means you dont have to refill all day long(or the day after either all depending on how much you vape.). It's been tested to keep producing decent vapor for up to 60 or so refills. I'm not sold on this, but i will be testing it. I'm up to my 10th or so refill on one of them now. Still gives off great vapor, and i havent cleaned it once yet. Although i do admit it's probably time i did so.

Gentlemen's reserve carries them here in Canada. Decent price too.

    in a cave, eh?
S'funny. I never had a problem with whistling on the Ego-Ts.

As far as taste goes, the LR tank atomizers give you more vapour and flavour; they just don't last as long as the regular ones. Also good to try are Boge LR or SmokTech dual coil cartomizers. If you go with the regular size cartomizers, you might consider getting an Ego cone to go around it (looks better and if the carto/atomizer is LR, it keeps the heat away from your hands).

The Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer (EMDCC) gets a lot of rave reviews although I have yet to try it myself.

I think you are right, it has to be the atomizers on my ego-t's I just bought last week that are 1000 battery size.
My other 2 ego T 650 battery size e cigs don't make any noise when I vape them. Thought it might have been because of the new cartridges I bought, but they are fine.
So I'll order some new atomizers.

Thanks to all your responses. I just love how people will help out each other on this forum, makes the vaping world easier to understand for a newbie like me.
I'm going to try to stick with the ego right now, since I've already spent $350 towards them.

Whatever works for you. The battery sizes, 650 mAh vs. 1000 mAh are irrelevant; the atomizers are interchangeable. When it's time to order new atomizers for your kit, you might consider trying 510 or Ego cartomizers, instead. Cartomizers aren't built to last as long as atomizers, but if you keep topping them up with juice (keep them wet), you can keep them going for quite a while. :)

I get the impression that you think only Ego-T atomizers will work on an Ego-T battery. This is far from the truth. You can use many different kinds of atomizers and cartomizers on that battery. I strongly suggest your branch out from the tanks and try other atomizers and cartomizers. Don't just buy two dozen tank atomizers without looking at other options.

Whistling is going to be a restricted air flow in the atomizer coil. Try cleaning the one that whistles using the method in the video below. HOT water is needed and the light toothpick coil scrape that Vicki demonstrates. Go through it twice if the first one doesn't fix it. You can also soak the atty in vinegar (with the wick plate removed) for an acetic acid cleaning, followed by a hot water cleaning again. If that doesn't fix it, an new atty is in order. Chances are, once you remove the wick plate, clean it and replace it, the noise will go away.
