Why is WTA such a controversial subject?

I tried it, curiosity - reminded me of a the scent of epoxy mixed with floor wax and, the taste was ashy to me. I have no issue if anyone else likes it, but the smell and taste just isn't for me. I'll stick to non WTA, and unless I have to, no NET either, same thing not a taste and/or scent I want to vape.

Wholecig unflavored WTA isn't my favorite flavor in the world but it isn't a bad flavor. I don't really pick up any tobacco or organic notes but I do pick up something that makes me think it has to do with the alkalinity/acidity balance. But then I pick up odd aftertastes no one else seems to from popular flavorings so I may not be the best judge. Since it has improved my state of mind so dramatically I am more than willing to deal with a slightly odd flavor.

You know, I might have just gotten the bottom of the barrel. I let somebody else smell it and they could smell the same thing I was talking about. She said it smelled like a monomer(something to do with dying hair.)
The taste is better than the smell but it still has that weird thing going on. I tried it on a clean wick coil setup and it was still there. I left the bottle uncapped overnight thinking it would dissipate. It didn't.
The bit that I added flavor to, is definitely vapeable, just got that slight unpleasantness to it. The WTA effects seem stronger than aroma. If I hit it 3-4 times I get that first cigarette in the morning type feeling. That aspect of it is pleasant, I just wish it didn't have that whole other thing going on.

I would say if you are feeling like something is missing, the alkaloids may be the answer. I don't use it all day everyday(there have been a couple of days when I did) but whenever I feel a strong craving I use some of aroma's wta juice and the craving fades. It gives me what I need in the moment and then that moment passes. I feel there is a strong possibility that I would've smoked had I not found out about this stuff.

I love the WTA from Wholecig. I don't love the unflavored by itself, but I mix it into other juices and DIY with it. Aroma is good too but I'd rather add the WTA unflavored to my own juice and I somehow feel like I get a little more of the "good stuff" from the Wholecig juice.
I have a very hard time not smoking and the WTA has made a big difference for me. I have WTA in all my juices now and often when I do cave and try to smoke I just put it right back out. Yay alkaloids!
I also really like the customer service at Wholecig but I guess that's another thread topic.

Try mixing it into one of your strong flavored juices. Or send it to one of us!

There was different opinions about the taste of the first WTA ever made (and it was of course unflavored). Some testers reported a "sweet" taste, "harsh," and even in one of the batches, the creator reported either "not liking the taste," or it tasting "sweet" and like "an ashtray."

One thing that I have realized that is different now, with back in early 2010, is the amount of different mods and especially juice delivery systems we all use. If I am not mistaken, all the original testers dripped into 510 attys or 901s (I think that's why I like WC's unflavored WTA--I vape it in a 510 atty). I have no idea what the reports would have been with a genesis type atty, ViVi, T3, RDA, or whatever else craziness people use (not that those are crazy). It's like watching an older movie/television show on a high-definition screen--some things, sometimes, don't crossover well.

I have tried 500+ flavors (I stopped counting after that number) from different vendors, and I know what I like and what I don't. I am good on that tip--I no longer seek flavor--for I have that in the bag. I think another difference with vaping back then (early 2010), with the current state, is that the flavor market/availability has exploded, and what a vaper expects a liquid to/can taste like is completely different now (I think the unflavored WTA-only liquid is kinda old school as a standalone).

As far as what one, or two, or ten people feel about a liquid's taste, well, that is always going to be muddy at best. Aaron, who likes WC's unflavored (as seen here), hates Prime 15. He said Prime 15 tastes like "Dry dirty bathwater mixed with a moldy sock." But, I not only disagree, I love P15 (but it does smell like nail polish remover, LOL.) I love Gamel from AVE and it's got the funk of an acrid, sour vinegar with a subtle touch of clamminess. haha. But that's not to say that the liquid is somehow suspect or something scary, it's just how it tastes to me (and everyone else who has a palate).

I have seen (as well as everyone else) repeated posts by reviewers of all types of juices that report back tastes of everything from bug repellent, Cap' n Crunch, chemical, natural, soap, hair spray (Torque 56 does smell like hair spray, LOL), graham cracker, mentholated turpentine (yes, I've seen that), floor wax, cotton candy, tobacco, corn chips (LOL), terrible, awesome, nothing and something (and many of those types of different opinions were about the same liquid). My point is that tastes will always and forever be relegated to a less than objective class. The taste of unflavored WTA will be like any other liquid: your millage will ALWAYS vary!

A drop or two of any of my other liquids on top of the WTA in my dripping atty pretty much hides any of the WTA flavor for me.

I taste nothing chemically from wholecig. I just dripped a little from a new bottle into a clean RDA to check my memory of how it tastes plain. It's a very mild taste. It's so mild I have trouble identifying it. I wouldn't argue with any who wanted to call it a tobacco taste or even straw-like.

24mg is a bit strong for me, so I mixed my first bottle with some plain vg/pg, then I added 3 drops per ml of menthol flavoring. I added menthol because I like menthol, not because I felt the need to cover anything up. I have about 2 or 3 ml left of my first diluted bottle and I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do the same with the second bottle or do a fruity DIY with the second bottle.

I did the same thing this morning. I do clearly pick up the sweetness people have mentioned but still no tobacco or chemical for me. I also got some new PG so I tested that as well and there I do pick up the chemical taste so those taste buds are still functional. I also realized that the cup cake I had been dripping on top of it seems very similar to me somehow to the straight WTA.
