Why LR is harder on batteries.

A nice layman's version of what I have been saying all along - lower current = better operating conditions for a battery !
Yet we still have to design for LR attys because people have been taught that LR = Better in all cases , nice sales Pitch !

When you really make a battery work hard, does that affect the life of the charge you have on battery right now ... or the life of the battery overall? My guess is both ...
No dummy T , it does BOTH , over working a battery is hard on it like a human body, they break down , also the charge LIFE ( time it holds a charge ) is much lower .
5c, just let the chips fall where they may! I call it "post it and forget it." That way if someone disagrees, you don't feel the need to defend your post LOL.

T your no Dummy, For one thing I don't like dummies and I like you so that proves it.
It's like driving a car versus driving a car while pulling a huge trailer. The first one, while driving there is no extra stress on the motor and the MPG is pretty good. You now have the same car pulling a huge trailer with the added weight and wind drag so your mileage goes way down plus if you do it all the time your car won't last as long with all the added stress on the engine plus causing it to run hotter and it won't last as long.

THAT is actually a very good analogy for the non-technical people. LR gets you 2 ways - drawing excessive current shortens charge length and reduces the overall useful life of the cell. These cells are only good for a limited number of recharge/discharge cycles, therefore having to recharge more often also shortens overall longevity.
Wow, I missed that, life is pretty hectic lately - I'll have to check it out. Hopefully, if true, it results in a very low amount of Pb contamination actually absorbed in the human body. I too was very unimpressed with clearomizers and have barely used them, so I am not worried for myself. Thanks for the heads up.

G I want to thanks you personally for the bottom switch Idea , I have been using a prototype for about a week and it works flawlessly ! I did have the bottom cap come loose 2 x's and thought damn my batts are dead already ??? NOPE the bottom cap was loose.
This will be on all of the Pro line stuff now !!!
FYI regular lead based solder will NOT solder Stainless steel or nickel ! only silver solder with a acid based flux will solder that .
They need to do more tests IMO .
