a thread so quickly?

what happens if the OP has more questions, or is confused about an answer?

That's just the rules of this forum. Its supposed to be a question asked, and a response given, and that's it. If a question looks like it needs some back and forth discussion, and some do, it is moved to the appropriate specialty forum. We experts do sometimes have a back and forth discussion about a question that has been asked though, and this is edited and condensed by a mod before it is posted in Ask the Experts.

If a response is not good enough for a poster, they are certainly welcome to post another question, but this forum is meant to be more streamlined than the other forums here.

Looking at this thread, it could be that there is a need for a board specifically to discuss answers and/or to continue the discussion.

We try and provide what's needed, so if you believe this would help, then please post in Site Feedback with a title such as, "New board for continuation of Ask the Experts topics". Such a board would not necessarily feature a continued discussion from the Expert/s involved though - it would be up to them if they wanted to go over there and carry on with the thread. In some cases they would consider their job done here, and want to leave it at that.

You could maybe look at this Q&A series as being like a magazine: you write in and the Editor or chosen expert answers you, but it's done and dusted there and then. That's how we envisaged it - short, accurate answers to questions that otherwise got multiple, sometimes inaccurate answers. A discussion is a different thing and maybe our experts don't want that, because it would increase their workload or put them at the centre of a debate.

Because of this, even if there appeared to be a demand for a 'further discussion' board, we'd need a unanimous vote for it from the Experts here, first.
