Why not micro USB?

Why aren't more EGO style batteries coming with micro USB chargers? That would make life much easier for me! Like right now, I have micro USB charger at work, it's for my phone and my kindle, but I fell asleep reading last night an didn't get a full charge on my batter ok maybe last 2 nights, and now it's dead but I don't have that wacky charger where you need to screw the battery on!

Any suggestions?

I don't see a way one could be added without significantly increasing the length of the battery (not to mention making the tip look pretty strange).

They use those so the charging electronics is outside the battery. That makes some sense if they're trying for the absolute minimal size on the batts. It also means that a failure of the charging circuit isn't the death of the unit.

My Volt X2 has all its charging electronics internal, with a mini-USB hookup. Since I always have a mini-USB cord with me, it's plug and go, and functions as a passthrough in a pinch. I personally like it.

they do make ego pass throughs already,,they use a mini-usb port to charge or you can use the standard charger

You can charge the battery in an evic with micro usb. That's a little pricier than an ego battery, though.

I really don't think greed has much to do with it.

As Trick mentioned its going to extend the length of the battery. This on a 510 auto would be unacceptable IMO. Could you imagine a 1000mah Twist with an extra few CM on it accommodate a usb pt circuit? Would be stupidly tall (like, pointlessly).

I have an eGo-T PT and while I loved pass-through capabilities at first I haven't done that in 9+ months.

I don't think a Twist would work with it at all, at least not with the USB at the end like it is now.

Looked good and I was going to buy it but it's not a true passthrough from what I've heard. I got another Spinner instead.

What are "pass-through capabilities"? I carry around an ego with a clearomizer on it so its already 4/5ths of a water bottle in length. I have a water bottle on hand and I don't have a tape measure so that's the best measurement I can give you. Plug I have has SMOK Ego battery before and it broke open, the batter doesn't take up the entire space. Doesn't seem so unreasonable.

*EDIT* I misunderstood the OP. The below information is still relevant if he does get a passthrough, as the only ones I have seen have been mini USB.

Now, I understand the "I shouldn't have to buy an adapter argument" (admittedly, I have not read the thread past this post), but I also understand the cheap fix route too.

I've ordered from them several times. Free shipping and they except Paypal. The only caveat is the shipping time. It can be a couple of weeks or more, but for $1.90? Yes please.

A passthrough is an eGo with a micro usb port on the end. You can vape while it charges. What kind of clearo do you use? I'll put one on mine and measure it.

Remember, if we could just use any old charger we had laying around, it would take from the companies who produced them. I'm sure charging cables is a good profit for the Vaping industry.

Love it. The unit's sturdy, not slippery, not huge, and works like a champ.

It's also an 808 thread, which means your eGo accessories wouldn't work without an adapter. That's a big negative for you.

Here's a link to some eGo passthroughs, complete with your eGo threading. Just like the Volt X2, they're batteries as well so you can unlink from the computer and go (I have this down to a one hand operation that I don't even have to look at).

There are plenty of variable voltage or higher voltage passthroughs if you'd rather have that.

Love my Joye ego Upgrade 3.7 Pt's! I never use as a PT, just like the more convenient charging. Never have to take my carto tank off, lol, might as well be one piece.
