I don't know if anyone else has noticed or not but there seems to be alot of used janty sticks being sold in the classifieds section. At first, I thought I wanted one but now I am not sure. I was wondering why so many people are buying them and then selling them fairly soon after using them. Any input?

I was at a highschool football game tonight (my daughter is on colorguard) and got a lot of use out of my Stick. Easily concealable, cart lasted through the whole game, as well as the battery. Made me very glad I got it as well as my 510. Both are great in different situations.

Now all I need is some good non-tobacco flavored juice. Darn slow USPS...

Going back about a month on a quick scan I saw 10 subjects where the JS was mentioned - 5 were for sale (FS) and 5 were wanted (WTB). And the one you replied to had 14 replies - some almost begging for it. ;-)

Likely people 'in transition' wanting more than a cig style then more voltage... or they simply preferred the cig style after trying the 'mod'.... If they were all sales, then it might be significant. And if the Cameo has a juice dispenser, one of mine might be up for sale.... but that's the only thing that would do it for me at this point.

I'm in the same boat as Medic23. I was curious about the 5v of the prodigy. After trying it, I just couldn't go back to 3.7v. The JS is a great unit, but I feel like the Prodigy V1 is exactly what I needed. I get snickers and comments from friends about how it looks like I'm smoking a screwdriver, but I'm too much in heaven to take them seriously. I just laugh and go back to vaping my "power tool" as I've started calling it.

I guess that it seemed to me that I saw several for sale in a short period of time. I guess that it was not that many. I just don't want to buy something that I will turn around an replace in a couple months with a high voltage model. I guess that I should probably just save up for a prodigy or something like it.

If throat hit is a significant factor then the higher voltage mods are probably where you want to go. If you just want a bigger cartridge, less top offs and a day long battery - ymmv - built in PT, a nice carrying case, good flavor and a more stealth-like PV in public, for much less $$$, then the JS is a better deal. You can get get throat hit on the JS with a high nic content in a tobacco flavor or a menthol that helps it out - I'm doing that right now with a 24mg virginia and nhalers 'nuport'. I'm sure from what I've read, that the higher voltage would do that with almost any flavor.

Want an awesome throat hit with the JS? Direct lung inhale that sucker until the LED goes red. That's an 11 to 12 second pull. If your juice has any "oomph" at all to it, you can really make it burn! :D

Not to mention, it's a very quick way to get a gnarly nic buzz, too. Trust me, I just got one! Got my JS on passthrough with some cappucino juice. Life is good.

    VAPE ON!!

Thanks for all of the input. I think down deep that I would like to have a JS and a prodigy but can't afford both. The JS is more attractive on price but I think that I would enjoy the prodigy more. However, as you guys know, the prodigy is about twice the price. Right now I am using a 510 and a 510 box mod. The box mod I made gives me about 2-3 times the vapor but it seems like I am not getting that much throat hit even with 24mg menthol. I have ordered parts to make an 801 box mod just to see the difference in models of attys. I have read that the prodigy with the 801 parts is a good setup. I guess I am just on the fence and am having a hard time coming to peace with the price of the prodigy. Thanks everyone.

Understood. It really does end up as a personal decision and the priorities of what each person values. When throat hit is primary then anything less than a high volt mod probably will always leave on 'wondering' ;-)

I came from 'lights' that I made from MYO and before that ultra lights. Going back to a regular Salem was harsh for me. But when that was the only thing available, I didn't notice it :-| Only going back to one did I notice the harsher throat hit. I can handle 24mg but 36mg begins to develop a soar throat and I don't need that amount of nic in my bloodstream to keep from wanting an analog. It's conditioning.... If you're coming off Camel unfiltered's, eg. then you could likely go straight to a mod vaping 36mg without a problem.

Got rid of mine because it sucked.

Inconsistent as hell. Had to suck on it like a $4 ...... that needed a big cash tip.

Sometimes you'd get a wisp of vapor, sometimes a huge cloud. Even with the huge cloud, flavor was less than a 510, throat hit was only achieved by a direct inhale lung hit.

Plus trying to get the atty screwed down tightly enough to operate properly was a huge PUTA. Didn't want to have to run around with a pair of pliers to change attys.

Since you're one of the few that had a problem... (I think I saw another case that went unresolved), chances are the adapter under the atty wasn't fully engaged with the battery connection. My friend had a similar problem. He got 2 JS's and one was working fine the other sporadic. I removed the atty, saw the adapter had screw slots in it and adjusted it. Put the atty back in and all was well. One can easily use the cart top/protector as a 'wrench' to seat the atty. I do it every week or so when I switch mine out.

True, that shouldn't have been the case coming from Janty, but it was. If that wouldn't have worked, he would have sent it back as it was under warranty like almost all Janty products.

Yeah, at first I thought that was it too.. but alas, it was not.

I torqued that thing down with a wrench (and tore up the finish on the atty) creating a solid contact. Like i said, it would create a ton of vapor... then fizzle out for no reason.

Even tested it dripping directly onto the atty, same inconsistencies.
