Why some of T3 leaks and some don't???

I've been having problem with my T3 atomizer, like a lot of other ppl experienced, it just leaks to the battery...

I did research, there are way to rebuild and change wick to avoid leaking and make it better, but i also know there are a lot of ppl out there do not have this leaking issue as well, so before i try to rebuild or anything, i want to do did i do anything wrong to make it leak?? i can tell is leak is from the wick spot...but i just don't know why..like last night i had a new wick plug in....used for few hours without problem, but this morning after a few hits...it started leaking..and then just continue to leak...nothing i can do....i tried to clean it and sat there for a while, hit it again few hits, it leaks again............

I do have a vivi nova tank with no leaks at all, but i like the T3 more when i vaping it too....please help!!

I posted this SAME question a few days ago and saw another post like this yesterday?!?!? HHHhhhmmmm... quality control? I think MY problem was that I was letting the juice level drop to far ( under a ml ) but haven't had the chance to test that theory yet... I will keep checking back in here to see if anything new is posted. Good luck.

I have an MT3 and it's done the same but it has happened to me when its gurggled/flooded and I've tried to get it to stop. I need to get some wick to try and stop it from happening.

This has been my experience and it all seems to come down to quality control: To improve the T3 performance I've been removing the 2 wicks inside the post that aren't apart of the coil (Big performance boost there) and plugging 1 of the 3 air holes. (I thought with 3 the draw was way too airy)

What I've noticed? The first T3 base I did this to it worked great with only a little leaking once it only had a bit of juice left in it (less than 0.4ml) and the second one I did this too leaks when there is less than 1.6ml and leaks badly. The difference? The first one was from DV and I am almost positive the second one came from GotVapes. This really seems to come down to quality control to me and there is a big thing about this on Tasteyourjuice.com: Apparently we can't link to the article directly. If you go to tyj.com just scroll the side menu until you see the section called "The Gates" and there is the whole big Kanger T3 deal.

For me, i don't see it as low juice problem, mine leaks at any level of the juice, not just 1 atomizer...

But i think most T3 users don't have leaking problem? i don't know....if you see all these reviews on website, is pretty high.

I am using 50/50 18mg juice, and ego c twise battery.

But still love the T3, when it works, is so good, i only use vivi nova when the t3 is not working well.

What do you mean by "plugging 1 of the 3 air holes"??

I break the tip of a toothpick off into an air hole. Much better on the air flow but I wish I had a more stylish way of doing it.

I had the same issue also. Ive taken steps that have almost completely stopped the leaks.
First I clean everything in my ultrasonic cleaner about every two days. When cleaning I also remove the center post and rubber grommet, clean and replace making sure everything is very dry.
I only use juice between 50 and 75% PG. Anything thicker or thinner will cause me problems.
Always check the seal between the drip tip and atomizer cap to make sure its tight.
Check the metal bands on the top and bottom of the tank. They are often very slightly crooked. It seems even the slightest bit out of place and they will cause leaks. I have a small block of wood i place on top of the tank when its disassembled to tap them down with. If they are very loose I super glue them.
If im very careful and pay close attention to all these things I dont have leaks at all. I think the tolerances on these things are nonexistent and they need lots of maintenance. Its the only thing ive tried that I really like to vape with. Hope some of this helps.

The center post and the rubber cap on it seem to be the issue point from what I've been experiencing with my current T3 base. I noticed when cleaned my T3 yesterday I had juice above the rubber stopper inside the airflow tube.

Edit: I just did a cleaning of my T3 base and some new developments: With a mixture of what Thepinfamily said about making sure everything is good and snug I also made sure I cleaned off the coils real good and did some repositioning of the coil because it was sort out of out of line and now... (Knock on wood) it's working great. Not gurgling or nothing, will keep in formed.

But honestly though, the batch my DVs came in have been the best batch thus so far. This GotVapes one is kind of isolated issue and I seem to have been able to work through it.

Viscosity and thickness of wick filling the openings.

Consider this(clones/knock offs aside)
The Base/Tubes/Shell/Top are all machine made - all should be the same. Same sizes, lengths, openings
Wicks are twisted material and may have variations, just as paint batches differ slightly.
Assembly is straight forward with exception of installing the Wick/Coil assembly.

Variations in fitting the wick/coil can lead to a few things.
Resistance variables - i.e. some read 2.4 others 2.8
Wick fit - Some may be to tight, over filling the gap and causing slow/poor wicking.
Some may be a loose fit and allow liquid to freely penetrate the opening causing gurgling or flooding.

Also of concern is actual liquid thickness.
All PG, Blends, All VG - some liquids are very thick and hard to absorb. Some have been artificially thinned to flow like water.

Most 70/30 blends work in most systems fine, with a few assembly issues. Other mixes may take tinkering to get flowing properly in any device.

The theory is when you release the battery the coil is still hot and still vaporizing juice, and if you're not still inhaling that juice will condensate in the the post area.

I've been making a conscious effort to do this and it seems to be helping.

Friend bought a T3 1 1/2 weeks ago and LOVES it. His wife has one and it leaks like a sieve.

Umm..so sounds like really the quality control when comes to the wick...maybe i just had few bad ones..

Anyway, i just open everything, the wicks all wet inside and out, so i took out the 2 wicks on top, just clean it with paper towel and clean the inside wick as well...blow out any moist or juice and re-adjust the wick a bit..close everything, make sure all tight.

For now seems perfect, no leak and vape huge cloud of smokes... hopefully it will stay that way for a while.

Right now I am having a love/hate relationship with the Kanger T3. When it works, it performs so well and I get such good flavour and vapour off it that I absolutely love it and when it doesn't... Well, I want to see how hard I can bounce it off a wall.

When I get a tank (no matter what kind) in first use, if it is harsh,dry, or it leaks somewhere, The first thing I do is reassemble the heads also making sure all areas where it screws with seals are tight. and that fixes the problems most of the time, if it is a faulty tank though, these steps I take don't matter. But in reality these come to us sometimes just thrown together and not double checked, IMO.

Don't worry too much, i think most people don't have problem with it, just some folks out there.

But if yours don't have leaking issue, sure you will enjoy it very much with it.

For now, i am working on it, hope i can use the T3 soon without issues.

i have 4-5 of them and have not had any issues. I think you are right it is just the luck of the draw. anything mass produced will have flaws. Nature of the beast...

I haven't tried the t3 as of yet but my guess is that they leak like almost all other clearo's. For those who say they don't leak give it time. I thought the t2's were awesome and sparred of leaking until after a few weeks of use and then bam. wet top inner post on my battery. Another guess about the lack of posts regarding these leaking is probably one of two things. 1. the owner has not put allot of mileage on the clearo yet 2. users are so used to blowing these things out on a paper towel and drying off their battery posts that it becomes just part of owning and using them. It really sucks that leaking down onto the battery can't be resolved. I guess the design of the coil and wick with a center tube that feeds down to the battery is a tough design issue to work around.
The only clearo/ tank type device that I have found not to leak is a mini viva which in all honesty thought sucked until recently. It was dry hit after dry hit until I got lucky and cleaned it, dry burned it and modified the rubber inner top cap slightly to allow easier wicking and this is now my number 1 unit for my vaping. I couldn't believe how many raved about the vivi until recently. IMO the vivi minis (maybe the larger others too) can be finicky for some reason but when you get them working properly they are a no juice leaking, awesome vaping device.
I had hopes for the t2 and now not impressed with them either. no intentions of trying t3, rather will buy more vivi nova products.

Sorry to contradict. As with anything man made S...happens. However I still have my original T2 with the original wicks after 6 months of pretty heavy use. Yes I use other setup, but the Kangers are used more than anything else due to my work schedule. I still have the 5 spare heads I bought packaged and waiting. No leaks and no issues. Funny thing is the T2 was the first Clearo I found I could vape empty without an issue.
So far, after a few weeks with the T3's most of my experience is the same. Did have one Gurgler, but after cleaning and reassembly it cleared up.
