Why there are no reward points when purchasing gift certificates

It's really not fair but unfortunately it's a limitation of our cart..

What was happening..

People would buy a gift certificate and get reward points. They'd then use the gift certificate code to buy another gift certificate and get reward points. This would go on all day until the had several hundred dollars in reward points..

So our only fix was to shut off reward points for gift certificate purchases only. This has been in place since Janurary but for some reason it has come to be be a popular support ticket lately, almost like someone posted about it

Anyway. Until there's a fix by our shopping cart provider, we have to keep it like this.. You'll still get reward points when you purchase products though

This actually makes sense. As long as you get the points when you actually purchase product with the gift cert. Otherwise it's double reward points, and everyone would buy a cert to use for every purchase.
