A lot has changed in the past 3 years or so. Cartridges are pretty much obsolete in the bigger companies eyes. there is a wide array of components now a days and everything keeps interesting. You can pretty much find something that will work for everyone.

were you looking to get more out of something new? If so what were you looking for?

Hi..new member here. I've been using the RN4081 with atomizers (not carto's) for about 3-4 years now,
the batteries last all day...good vapor..and I refill the cartridges with 3-4 drops. How are newer setups any better?

    Thanks in advance.

The newer ones will use up those 3-4 drops and all the power of your RN in about 3 puffs, lol.

The batts, attys and juices are significantly better now. Even in the same form factor as you have now. But, hey, if you're happy where you are.............

No need to change anything if you are getting what you need and want.

Clearomisers, mods, RDAs etc etc can give you better flavour or drive you crazy fixing stuff that never bothered you with your 4081. It's all added complexity; nothing is simpler or has fewer problems than a cartridge and an automatic battery.

Remember when mobile phones only made calls and had batteries that lasted a week? Now they browse the Internet and have to be recharged every day.

The only thing I would suggest is checking the prices of your cartridges against standard 510-style ones. You might find you're spending too much.

Some people become obsessive with their toys, but most of us stop looking for upgrades when we find the right setup for us. I've had mods and giant tanks, huge batteries, all the bells and whistles but ultimately the ecig I like best is from a $65 starter kit.

If what you have keeps you satisfied then the ONLY reason to upgrade is if it breaks and cannot be repaired.

The only reason I see to upgrade is if you're not getting what you want from what you have. Or if what you have is discontinued, but as long as 21st Century Smoke stays in business you should be safe.

I went through a number of different kits, mostly automatics, before I settled on what works for me. I'm happy with what I have, though I am eyeing the Vapor Zeus lately. ;)
