I prefer VG myself. Some juice sellers are swinging toward VG due to perceived health concerns. But, VG has a higher viscosity and PG fans say PG wicks better, which is logical with a lower viscosity. Also, VG has its own sweetish taste which some don't seem to like. But, I'm sure a PG fan will come along to give their POV. Even PG fans agree that some VG in the mix produces better vapor.

I use and prefer PG..
I don't believe that VG is better for you...there's nothing to substantiate that claim at all...
So we have a choice of 2 unknowns...I choose the one where there has been more testing and studies on it's uses and effects..
Hmm...something that's used in stage fog machines and breathing treatments and inhalers...or something sold as a skin softener and protectant...
Plus VG is thicker and clogs and cruds up atomizers faster..
I don't have a sensitivity to PG...so I prefer to stick with PG.

In that post about everything you wanted to know about e-cigarettes 1 to 6 in the ECF Library it says vg gives better vapor and pg gives better flavor. Plus alot of people don't DIY they just want to buy and vape as it comes and some vg being thicker can cause problems plugging up atties if not diluted. I myself prefer vg but I'm always buying the good deal which has worked out to be pg.

PG wicks, mixes better, and produces a slightly sweet flavor. It also has a slight throat hit all of it's own.
VG produces larger amounts of thicker vapor, has a slight sweet note on aroma (difference of flavor and aroma, IMO), and requires more vigorous mixing (or dilution with water or alcohol). VG has almost no throat hit.

I prefer mostly VG mixes, but PG has definite merits.

Why is VG supposed to be "better for you"? PG has been tried and tested for decades, VG not so much. Theoretically, VG can degrade into acrolein, hardly something you want to vape. (Practically, not much of a concern, but still.) Probably, it does as little harm as PG, but it does not have its desinfecting benefits. Mind you, that's probably not a problem, either, but there is no reason, AFAIK, to assume it might be "better for you".

IMO, a lot of those alleged PG problems are plain problems of stopping to smoke, or lowering analogs significantly; initially not drinking enough can be a problem, too. People get hysterical, order VG, and by the time VG arrives, the symptoms get less. Only they would have gotten less anyway.

Just wondering... VG is better for you I would think and produces more vapor than PG S why would anyone use PG ??

How did you determine that VG was better?
Yes, it produces more vapor. "Suppliers" add it to ejuice so they get reviews that say "Awesome Vapor!"
It also glues my sinuses together while I'm sleeping so I can't breathe or swallow when I wake up.
A very small number of people are sensitive to PG. But the first response a new vaper gets to any issue is: "Switch to VG."
Ditto Alex.

VG (of greater than 50% in juice) burns my throat and makes my inner nose stuffy and sore. That and flavors tasting well...flavorless with VG would be the reason I choose 100% - 50% PG.

Note: both of these were from hands on experience and apply only to me as far as I know.

Ditto - I prefer PG based for the same reason. I also notice (again, purely anecdotal and my personal observation) that straight VG based e-liquid gives me a filmy or "coated" feeling in my mouth and throat.

I also know that PG is used in asthma inhalers and other inhaled medications and it's an ingredient listed on most (if not all) of my cosmetics, lotions, creams, mouthwash, various OTC medications... read the ingredients in products you use daily. We have been exposed to PG for most of our lives. :)

I personally prefer VG and find that large percentages of PG are very irritating to my tongue, which becomes raw. That being said, I'm beginning to really thing that the largest irritant is some unknown ingredient that the majority of american eliquid makers aren't using, as this sore tongue effect is much much worse when vaping DeKang juices. In fact, I've gotten it using DeKang or some other chinese source VG liquids. Whereas I'm finding myself able to use american made PG blends with no issues. In other words, some of us with a PG "sensitivity", may be sensitive to something entirely different.

While that is a fact, it is not testimony to either its safety or lack thereof.

That may be true, but the hospitals I work in pump PG mist into the air in the ER and on the pediatric unit, I have used inhaled asthma medication (via rescue inhaler and breathing treatments via nebulizer), I've administered breathing treatments to patients... I am not saying that everyone should subscribe to my way of thinking. Not at all and I hope no one does.

I have read the studies, I've done enough homework to make *me* comfortable. I am not trying to force anyone into believing what I say.

I don't trust anyone to make decisions for me, I have that ability and I exercise it. None of us should blindly trust bozos on a forum, myself included (sorry if that statement offends, it's not meant to). It's up to each one of us as individuals to do our own homework and research and make our decisions based on our own level of comfort and knowledge.

I stated in my original post that what I typed was purely anecdotal and applies only to my experience :)

As others have pointed out, there's far more research available on inhaling PG vapor than VG vapor, so there's no reason to assume that VG vapor is safer.

As for preference, mostly VG liquids leave a horrible aftertaste in my mouth and throat. Alex may have a point about getting used to vaping and PG. I didn't think I was allergic to PG, but I did think I didn't like it at first. After trying some VG liquids, I tried my PG stuff again and had no problems with it.
