Why would I need 30 watts?

I have been using Ego style twist batteries with carto tanks for over two years now. For some reason I feel the need to buy a mod.

I have been looking at getting a Evic. I like the fact that I can change the tube colors and I can use it with a 18350 battery. But now I see the Evic has come out with a 30 watt version so I'm not sure witch one I want to purchase. So could some one explain why I might want to vape at a higher voltage than the regular evic can put out. Currently I use a Ibtanked with a 2.0 ohm cart and never vaper over 4 volts.

I don't like the fact that the DNA doesn't have a buck circuit. It can't lower voltage below what the battery voltage is. I love my Kayfun and ProVari. I don't understand the 'on the run' comment the OP made regarding Kayfuns. The Kayfun is specifically designed to provide near dripping flavor with the portability of a carto tank or clearomizer. My coils last over a month with minimal maintenance. I keep my ProVari in my pocket all the time. No leaks at all from my Kayfun.

I have only saw pics of the kayfuns but they seem to be quite large. The largest carto tank I have is a 22 mm standard tank. How does the kayfun compare in size to that?

Kayfun is a 22mm tank It looks great on top of any standard 22mm mod. You can get nano kits to make them shorter. Plus mine is a 3.1ES Kayfun so it's about 1/2 to 3/4 inch taller than the Kayfun Lights available now.

Here is one on my ProVari and on my MVP 2

KF 3.1 is definitely on the big side.
The lite shaves some of the length and is just about perfect when you put a drop (nano) kit on it.

Do you need 30w? Odds are if you have to ask then probably not.

Most tank type attys do not respond well to low impedance/high power. Really more for dripping, which if the device is going to be used a lot on the go becomes even less ideal.

At the very least I would tell you to try a low impedance/high power setup (sub ohm dripper on a mech or dna type device) if only to know what others are talking about, plus at the least it would be worth a laugh.

Personally I run mech mods w/ KFs most of the time but like to throw on sub ohm drippers here and there. So the DNA and similar devices appeal to me as I can get a nice regulated every day vape for the KFs but still crank out some serious power and clouds to what I am used to with my mechs should I throw on a dripper.

But again, as others have stated, if you are honestly happy with your set up, why change it?

, you do not need 30w trust me!

that is funny coming from somebody calling themselves Cloud Junky

Your ego twists would only be generating about 8 watts. An eVic will give you up to 11 watts. If you plan to stick with 2.0 ohm cartos there is no point getting anything better than an eVic, especially if your are using cartos which have pre-punched holes. Higher power settings generally require bigger holes or slots to improve wicking and even that doesn't do the job for certain types of cartos (like Smok horizontal coil ones without filler). The new eVic Supreme would be a huge overkill.

You could try something like a Sigelei 20W which would give you a lot more flexibility - but you don't need that if it is your plan to stay with 2 ohm cartos.

There are no leaking problems with Kayfuns if you fill them correctly, and you'll have the added benefit of a Kayfun being a vastly superior vape to cartos. You don't "need" a power regulated MOD, but they sure do provide a smooth, robust vape. Being able to use 30W makes finding your sweet spot that much easier.

The kayfun lite+ will be a bit taller than a standard length cartotank.

When wicked right, my kayfun does not leak and tastes much better than a carto.

I was in the same position as you, I'm pretty happy with my iTaste VV3s and MVP but I wanted a small tube style mod with some bells and whistles, and the USB charging is a definite plus. I'm still a little uncomfortable with mechs and don't do a lot of rebuilding so I recently bought an Evic and got a 18350 tube and flat top cap, and I also got a nano drop kit for my KFL. Should be a pretty compact looking setup once I get it all together. On the other hand, I do want to get one of those Hana clones. I will never vape anything near 30w or even 20w for that matter, but if I ever do, I'm sure the DNA20/30 chip will be sufficient.
