Hi, I just joined the world of vaping recently through my friends.
I had a few questions.
I don't understand much of the lingo yet and was hoping you guys could toss around some terminology commonly used.

I had fun tinkering around with their wicks and wires. I noticed that a lot of then did not have the wick and wire wrapped the same way. Some were interesting, some were weird. Taught me how to do a simple wick and wire wrap/build/setup (what is this process called? wraping the wire and wick to the atomizer), BUT I really want to do learn how to do other wraps. The styles
Do you guys know of any amazing, creative, unusual, interesting wrap styles?

I searched and found some cool wraps.
Build: Nimbus "Walking on Water" Horizontal Dual Coil - YouTube (would really like to learn this one)
http://imageshack.us/a/img441/4623/bufx.jpg (BTW do different atomizers have different names? What kind of atomizer is this one called? my friends have this. It has 3 posts (I think that's what its called) with a screw in each one.

Also! I saw some wire wraps where the wire was wrapped very closely ALMOST AS IF THEY WERE TOUCHING each other. How does one go about doing that?
I also saw some wrapped far from each other. Difference between closer wrap and further wrap?

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html That link is how I build most of my coils, ok, all of them. I have a Nimbus coming, and my first build will just be a basic dual micro coil, to see how it performs. I haven't done a dripper yet, but the build you showed looked to low to the juice deck to me, thinking the coils should be at least even with the air hole and not submerged in juice, but my only experience is with rba's that have a tank. But check out the micro coil thread, it is one of the best methods to learn how to be competent at building.

A build is the process of wrapping a coil and wicking it. Hand wrapped builds is wrapping the coil around the wick the mounting it to the atomizer. With a micro coil, you wrap and set the coil first, then mount and position the coil, then wick it. The advantage is that you can remove the wick, dry burn the coil to clean the gunk build up, put in a new wick and vape. A good micro build can last several months if properly maintained.

Welcome to the forum, make sure to check everything out, lots of information to be had here.

Vape long and Prosper!!!

BEFORE YOU BUILD COILS THAT MAY BE CALLED "SUB-OHM" ....."NANO-COIL" ....."MICRO-COIL"..... or any variation producing these crazy- LOW 0.5 and even 0.2 OHM COILS please RESEARCH BATTERY SAFETY. I am NOT AN EXPERT ON COILS - however, I do know battery limitations exist and some "builders (thankfully not all) ignore the fact. Others misunderstand OHMS LAW and believe the lower the ohms - the less stress placed on the battery. So again please - research and ask for SPECIFIC HELP before doing anything. You are off to a good start already.

Often I fear for people when I read a post that says, "My XYZ MOD is rockin' my ABC! Man it gets so HOT with my new 0.2ohm triple wrap nano-coil and boiled cotton wick ...... a cloud so thick I can't see the wall next to me!" Right pal! One of these times you'll not be able to EVER "see" that wall again - when that battery detonates in your face! They don't know and I suspect if they know they simply believe, "It won't happen to me". I've been using it for weeks without one single problem. AND that my friend is when the problem is most likely to occur!

SO again to stress my point: Sub-ohm coils are not what a new vaper should be thinking about. Sub-ohm coils can be very dangerous if you don't understand the limitations of your batteries and the end result can be devastating - very much so.

The hot ticket now seems to be "sub-ohm", they typically produce a hotter vape and load of vapor. Without fully understanding battery amperage limits and battery safety folks can be placing an explosive device at or near eye level and pushing a button that will potentially activate the detonator! While you did not specifically mention"sub-ohm", but I suspect you might be headed that way with the ATOMIZER you noted. Protected devices (batteries) typically will not even fire a sub ohm coil - knockoffs sometimes claim to be "protected" while not being so. Mechanical devices have no such protection and will fire no matter what - within reason and are in my opinion potentially quite dangerous IF ABUSED.

These are MY UNSOLICITED BUT VERY SINCERE opinions and are not meant to degrade those who build, use or support using "sub-ohm" coils or teach others how to do so. I am simply offering a STRONG SUGGESTION / WARNING about BATTERY SAFETY and the potential PHYSICAL HARM that one may suffer if said BATTERY SAFETY is not FULLY INVESTIGATED AND IMPLEMENTED.

To those who disagree with "battery safety" (yes they DO exist): I have mentioned "battery safety" many times before - as have others. I have been "flamed" for doing so. IF "flamed" this time - I WILL respond in kind. There is NO reason to not "be safe" when dealing with a potentially explosive device. Claims that batteries cannot "explode" are idiotic - period.

No one answered your question on which atomizer it is because from a top view 90% of them look like that. its best to show the outside view of the atomizer as that will help identify it more accurately. as far as builds everyone likes something different I have tried micro, nano, regular coils, and tons of wicking styles as well. once you find what's best for you stick with it.

I watch a lot --- DO only a little -- I am not ready to do anything beyond a basic four or five wrap 2.0 - 2.2 ohm coil so I am of zero help on "close wraps". Also use only Kanger T3S Clearomizers and ProTank2 and Mini ProTank2 (I love both - others hate them).

Nano Dragon Coil Build - YouTube <------I believe Rip Trippers answers close coil question in his video.
