What device, what wick material, what coil resistance?

If it's an RDA problem pictures help.

Tree of life clone, sony 18650 2600mAh battery. Dual-coil 26ga canthol. When built it read 0.4 ohms now reading back and forth between 8.0, 1.0, and 3.0 ohms. Running at 2.8 volts

Also using cotton wicking

Sounds like you might be running it too hot. Need more info though. Volts, watts, ohm, PG VG ratio, and tank?

I'm building on an Atty.

This has been consistent for three builds.

The ohm readings...what are you using to read it with? Either the screws on the posts are loose or the meter is defective (may also be that the battery needs to be replaced).

No one has asked, but what juice are you using? Sweeter juices tend to gunk up quick. Dark juices are self explanatory.

Ohmsmeter. And like a sir by not to shabby.

isnt the Tree of Life a mech?? ( I thought it was a mech) and .4 ohms ummm 43W @ 10A as far as the odd ohm readings, sounds like the screws are loose, did you know that as the wire heats up it softens and the connections in the post become loose after a while and you need to retighten them in the first hour of use? Also looks like you may have a bit too much wick in the coils, choking off the flow of juice and causing the darkening.

and you should never let your battery go below 3.2V... it isnt a nice thing to do to your battery... :)

and building on an Atty at .4 ohms will get hot... its just physics at work

anddd I change my wicks every morning.... Im amazed you got 2 days out of it

I agree with the above poster. A 0.4 dual coil build is going to run hot witha mech mod. I usually run a 0.3 ohm coil with my mech and change the wicks after a day's worth of vaping. Like A Sir is a butterscotch flavor, right? The sugars may also be contributing to the darkening wicks.

You can try this, when you change your wick, rinse the used wick under the faucet. If the gunk washes off, then it's just the burnt sugars of the eliquid. If there is still brown or black on the cotton, you've burnt your wicks. Either way, the old wick is toast, but at least you'll know what is causing it.

Well i believe my meter is off. I checked on the charger and it said 4.0 v. Max on that battery is 4.2 i believe.

What in the heck are you guys using for wicking?

I am running a .39 dual build with rayon and this is after the 6th day of vaping the same wick. Today is the 7th. No pix tonight. Anyway, I have run several differnt juices through this in the past week as well as vaped this rig exclusively and I see no signs of the wick letting up. Here's a shot of my rayon wick after 6 days on my build.
