Thanks gredie, for your translations. So Guys, there is no official paper, because this would cost about 140 €. But as I work in a company that make examinations about indoor-air-quality, I have connections to some laboratories. So, as gredie said, caused by a discussion in our german /austrian forum, I contact our laboratory that has a rem (scanning electron microscope) and they found, that it would be better, not to inhale this stuff any longer. Beleave (?)me or not

Thanks a lot bg for your work. You did what we couldnt do and thats the best thing on GG forum. We help each other in any possible way. And what you found is enough for me. I dont use this wick any more for several months but if I didnt search for better things all the time we could still vape it. Thanks again:)

I've still got about 90 yards of that stuff left. Been using the xc-116 wick and have at least 24' of that left. Where is the proof text on this?

Imeo for the Odysseus, what size wicks will fit? The xc-116 appears to be 2mm. You said in the video the wick you were using was 2mm, is that with biggest it will take? You also mention getting in some 1.5mm wick.

2mm of XC is not the same as the 2mm of E2 wick repent. XC is fatter. Maybe it will fit maybe not. But on Monday I will have samples of the piece that I need to replace the wick inside Odysseus. If it works ok then we will forget wicks inside Odysseus

I think what was said, is that their is no proof text, its just a take their word for it type of thing.

This thread has my interest. I bought a used iAtty and 2 other rebuildable attys. I have no clue where the wick stuff came from. I built one coil/wick for the iAtty with wick that looks like the stuff from COV. It works well and I like it. I used a different wick to build a coil on a different atty. The wick "shed" alot while putting a coil together. After vaping it for a bit my throat started to hurt. I left it alone for a few days. When I tried to vape it again, same thing. Should I throw out all this wick and just buy more from Bruce?

I am very interested about the analysis of the first version of the wick to be produced and used to wickstore for the first IATTY. Would be possible to see the analysis and its results?
Some of my friends would be curious to understand why that type of wick is not suitable to our health...

Thanks a lot

D.

Imeo did not have a study done. A forum member gave Imeo the information about it and he passed it on to us read this post

Sorry, I don't have a paper with analyse results. Somebody, who is working in a professional laboratory, did us a favor und analysed the wick. They classify materials into three groups: one is "save material" aka "no health issues to be expected", in the 2nd group there may be eventual a risk for health issues. In the last group there is quite a good change for serious health issues. The laboratory classified the wick material from wickstore to be in the last group, so we immediatly stopped using this wick for iatty.

I don't know if the wick is coated or not, my personal assumption is that the risk is inhaling small parts into the lungs.
Who knows if this is just possible when the wick is running dry or if this is the case while normal vaping too.
I don't care this analysing results to be officialy documented, for me a warning from a pro is enough reason to go for a safer wick.

Thanks fright88

I had read that post, but I was curious if in the meantime there had been some news about the actual analysis ... and if the author of the analysis itself had provided some indication of more...

Unfortunatly I don't think a full annalasys with data sheets has been done. Imeo hasn't sold that type of wick since he got the e2 wick from china, and I don't think anyone that still uses it has wanted to spend the money for an official test.

Anyways I guess it is kinda a take it as you will thing.

Daniel, we don't have more documentation about it. As bg2509 already mentioned she would have to pay just to get a paper with the same informations we already have.

ok ...

Personally I would not have spent money for a documented and official test... Many have bought yards and yards of the wick and surely it is better to throw some € rather than risk their health...

Thanks Fright88 an gredie

;)

I have a couple of yards here too, Daniel. Better wrapping x-mas presents with it as to risk our health. ;)

Ok, so I haven't been in these forums for quite a while and come back to see this..

I bought a roll of 100 yards of this wick a few months back, and have been using it ever since... kinda alarming if you ask me..

That being said, I am happy this is now cleared out and we have this information.

Now can someone please tell me which wick I should be buying to replace this stuff?

Also, where can I buy it in bulk (50-100 yards)?

Will this new wick I'll be buying work with the Odysseus(Iatty2) once I decide to purchase one ?
