Hmmm, maybe someone should start a co-op for Kanthal wire directly from Kanthal or Alibaba![]()

That's it, next time coinesweek is selling I'm cornering the market
You know, with the movement to RBA's a Kanthal A1 32 AWG co-op isn't too "out there"...go right to Sandvik and buy 5000 ft of the stuff and do a redistribute...and I have access to a wire foot counter/re-reeler...hmmm

I like that even better than the #2 Cool.
I picked up 2 sq yds of cheesecloth at our local food market and some cotton candle wick from eBay. The started out with the cotton batton and haven't tried any of the others. I should snip some of the cheesecloth and try re-wicking another CE2 with it ...yeah, maybe tomorrow ... oooo a birdie

Not a whole lot of difference between Kanthals A-1, A, and D
Common to all:
%C 0.08 (max)
%Si 0.7 (max)
%Mn 0.5 (max)
%Cr 20.5 to 23.5
Kanthal D
%Al 4.8
Kanthal A
%Al 5.3
Kanthal A-1
%Al 5.8
Fe makes up the balance of the composition
C = Carbon
Si = Silicon
Mn = Manganese
Cr = Chromium
Al = Aluminum
Fe = Iron
Kanthal is also known as FeCrAl (I've heard this pronounced "feckeral")![]()
