I keep an SS Line kicking around...you know, just in case I need a little aggravation but ya, that 28 awg (even the 30 is ok, I'm about done with 32) is seriously bullet proof...I have one coil that I've rebuilt 11 times (I'm actually keeping track, just to see)...I had to buy a 200' roll of 28 at the time I bought it (all they had)...my material costs have flatlined, juice mats are about my only real expense now, vaping may as well be free

...I'm extremely satisfied with this setup, but I kinda miss the days when I knew there was something better. I sorta wish I was still chasing a better vape, but I just can't see it getting much better than this, and that kinda makes me sad...

I find myself watching every review, reading all the modding threads, looking through the classifieds, looking for that next great revelation when I'm perfectly happy with what I have. Real first world problem, I know. Time to find another hobby.

I feel your pain...I too still surf the classy's looking for???...then googling what it is that some dude is selling after only owning it for a week (I remember those days )...what was the one I saw the other night...you can plug it into your computer via USB and tweak it?...of course some peeps are crying that it's not Mac compatible, really?...do I really want to get into having to flash the firmware on my batt mod?...I think vaping may have reached it's acme when the Chinese start making that crap...then I go over to the modders section and lurk while Mamu and Breaktru build these amazing devices out of the latest DNA chips...I get a spark of urge, but then I vape my straight batt bf bogger, blow a huge cloud and it goes away...sadly I agree...the "enthusiast" part of this hobby is sinking like a sunset for me...now it's just chattin' with all the great peeps I've met on ECF over the last year :)...I gave my kid his own ERA for his "beat to crap" Grand for xmas...all he knows (or cares?) of vaping is that it works waaaay better than the io6's he was using...I wonder if I've done him a dis-service, I've concentrated a years worth of experimenting, wins and fails into a single point, a well, he's a punk kid, what does he know :D

Well - I'm liking the fish tank wick. Takes me about 20 minutes to make 2 wicks from a 4" length of raw stone. Then make a coil, insert wick, and hook it up to the PV. I've been enjoying it for a bit over a week, running 3 ml's a day through it.

That said - I have a fleet of Vivi Nova's between myself and my wife. This thread was fantastic for ideas and help with home-brew coils & wicks They vape great and it's pretty simple to remove the old wick, burn the coil, stick in a new wick and good-to-go.

I've been switching between my S-Body BO-6 with rolled cotton and a CE5 (I think I called this a CE4+; but I think it's a CE5. Anyway it's one with changeable heads) with stock silica wicks the past week or two. Tried a couple of times to recoil a CE?? head with cotton but kept getting shorts  Oh well, that's life (at least mine :D).
Tom, I don't understand. You get a short by just changing out the wick?

Iv'e been like the rest of ya. This cotton/bamboo/hemp wick mod has been the crowning achievement in my search for the best vape possible. While lots of modders were working on battery mods I spent 2 years trying to make the perfect atty. Now I got it.So now what do I do? I go to some of my old favorite vendors and fill up my cart then say naa. Put it back I'm done buying this stuff.:)

Nah, trying to recoil the CE5. Got a Kanger T3 coming in, I'll play with that a bit more. Really like the taste off the BO-6 - bottom-coil RBT; so hoping the T3 gives a similar taste. The BO-6 is a tall skinny RBT - 3" with DT, I like the looks of the ego clearos better.

Damn Mike  ...all this talk of "that's it, I'm done" and you have to post that...well ok, maybe "one more" experiment, lol

Do you have a link handy of the aquarium airstone you used?

Lol...I've been bested by many a girl (and women) and not only am I at peace with that, my wife wouldn't have it any other way ;)

this is just rabbit hole avoidance...

Well if you get some pre-made ceramic wicks in that co-op interest thread it's a lot easier than rolling mesh and NO HOTSPOTS! Flavor is better too but that is subjective.

What I realized, and what seems counter to everything I had heard about making coils, is that I prefer my coils to be as close together as possible. So much so that after I build them and have them installed I use a pair of needle-nose pliers to squeeze the coil together so its as dense as possible.
.

Same here. I use a tiny screw with super fine threads. They aren't touching but might as well be done they are so close.
