Hey, np on the reg...an ya, I'll be doing the 4th in Canada :(...I tried lobbying my company into giving us the 4th off, you know, in support for our US neighbours...they didn't see it:?:

Some tips on cotton in the gtus which may be obvious to you. I ran my wick diagonally between the post so there is no lead on the wire to get maximum coil heat. You can also persuade it closer to the edge and position the air intake hole right on it. I made the wicks longer than needed so could quickly cut off the spent part and rethread the clean wick into the coil. If you have wicking issues make the wick thinner (thinner than you think it should be) where it enters the tank.

That's a really good idea, I mean you're right, no one said the wick had to be entirely vertical...I'll try that (and run an o ring to be able to line up the air hole), though I don't know if I'd want much more flavour/vape/TH out of it...the shear intensity out of my GTUS now is almost over the top, it's almost counter intuitive but I'd say cotton seems made for top tanks...think I may be joining L7D in the hunt for a second one

I was part of a thread a few weeks ago and there was a member who said he solders the kanthal to the silver posts in a Genesis type RBA. I remember specifically asking him about the silver melting. I couldn't tell you where or who for the life of me, but we definetly had the conversation.

I believe that must have been mwa, he uses a dab of solder for more stable contact

Set up my Z atty with Yarn last night, primed the wick, tipped it so the juice was flowing down towards the coil and hit the button a few times, low wattage. It burnt right up LOL

Before that, I tried to improve my stock set up by increasing the wraps and working out a kink or two in the top of the mesh. Ended up with incurable shorts that lead to multiple fires, my seasoned mesh got wrecked.

Set it up with 325 mesh after 1 hour of screwing around, decided I didn't like it.

Re set up with 400, couldn't work out the shorts after 1 hour of playing.

... LMAO

...a replaceable coil that needs to be soldered in place?

Doesn't need to be soldered. But thats the way I do it. I solder everything I can. One less connection to worry about.
The first thing I noticed while turning in the tip is that sometimes the ceramic cup will turn tightening up the ground wire causing the ground clip to move up against the center post. By soldering the ground connection the cup will only turn so far and stop.;)

Hey Quigs, I bought one that I was contacted about through my wanted ad. I had an offer from another member though, and I pointed him in your direction, but I'm unsure if he's willing to ship to Canada.

If you want it, PM me and I'll get you his username.

quidswirth,
you should deffinantly make an post annother video, id like ta see your setup, (GTUS)

i just started a cotton wick, i tried bamboo, ssmesh so far, in a GTUS
i think the one thing i maybe doing different is iam using a small amount off ss mesh in the top/tank part that hangs down and wicks liquid to the cotton (or ceramic, silca, or bamboowrapped in mesh) coil over...

it keeps the cotton coil wet pretty dammed good ime, lolol its a hybrid of a hybrid... atty lolol

Thanks for thinking of me L7, (what's the deal with that name anyway :D)...seems I have to hold off on the 2nd GTUS for now, my buddies want to go ahead with our little VZ nic juice co-op which will about kill my e-cig allowance for this month and my wife runs a pretty tight dictatorship...

Like I said, it's been done (I watched it and the guy did a pretty good job, he mounted the web cam to his head, that's dedication ) but I can't find it...if I'm going to do it as well I want to at least give the guy his dues...

No worries man.

The L7D4N is "leet" (read 1337) for LT. Dan, from Forrest Gump. I've been using this handle for a little over a decade to the point where even my wife, kids, siblings, and parents slip and call me Dan from time to time :D
