I made a very short "drip wick" with that hemp twine by wrapping three pieces in a coil and mounting that in my AGA-T for testing my DIY flavors. That hemp takes a fair amount of dry burn. It's pretty tough stuff for being natural.. It's not silica, of course... Again, good find BJ43.

I have the setup now for two weeks in a CE5 with an oval coil and still going strong. It really is surprisingly tough.

I have tried 5 different hemp and this is by far the best IMO. Good price and you can purchase as little as 5 yds.
Hemp Twine Cord 1mm 20 Test 5 10 or 25 Yards Color Selectable | eBay

I dunno $2.79 for 10 yards, That kinda pricey ain't it.lol I was gonna try some Michaels hemp but i'll give this a go first.:>)

Hmmmmmm Just wondering.

The wicks in ZIPPO LIGHTERS last forever.
just a thought!

I find the lighter fluid taste last forever. But thats just me.

I have some natural hemp twine that is kind of waxy that I bought a smallish bundle of at Joann fabrics... I havent tried it yet and have seen that you boil yours.. Does the twine you mention above have a waxy type of feel to it?
No it did not and when I boiled it, I didn't see any gunk in the water. It was a little stiffer before boiling but I think that was only because it was compressed, after boiling it swelled and very fexible. As I said, I bought from 5 different sources and this is the only one I am using, none of the others was even 50% as good. Since so many always complained about Bobas wicking, I now test all wicks with Bobas 100% vg and this hemp has held up with Bobas now for two weeks and still going. I will probably replace the hemp on my CE5 in the next few days just out of curiosity to see what the wick looks like after more than two weeks. BTW that is at least 5ml per day on it.

100% agree with BJ43. Dont go near that version of Hemp. Been there, done that, in4mati0n11. The material from Joanns/Michaels is raw and probably waxed etc.

I got BJ43's version. More yarn like than twine. Very clean out of the boil and wicks great. The other stuff is too "natural". BJ43's hemp is like Aunt Lydia's on steroids.

BJ43's 1mm hemp really rocks in Vivis. I should be getting my 2mm hemp in today. I'm curious to see how it wicks in my Ody clone.

ok ok now I'm sold.
damn it, I just received the square braid cotton wicks I bought from amazon and yet to try it, and now I'm jumping right into the knitting club.
