Hello,

My ADV is def on the thicker side. I love the way it tastes in carto compared to wick tanks but the draw gets so tight after I refill it 3 or 4 times I end up switching out the cartos. The flavor isn't as tasty out of the wick delivery tanks BUT they have a much longer lifespan. I even tried going to the 3 hole punch cartos but it still tends to get a pretty tight draw after a couple refills. I was just wondering what you guys suggest?

Wick tanks that I've tried are the smoktech vivi, Vision vivi, Kanger mt3, and the Kanger protank 1&2. I do get good flavor out of the protanks but they gum up really bad after a couple fillings as well. So does anyone have any suggestions? Best tank for rich flavor using thick juice?

thanks in advance.

What you are experiencing is pretty normal. Thick or dark flavored juices tend to clog the filler material in cartomizers faster; adding additional or larger holes in the carto will not solve this issue, as you have found.

For thick e-juices, one option is to drip on an atomizer. No wicks or filler to clog up. Just juice dripped directly on an atomizer. The downside is you can only use 3 - 4 drops of juice at at time to avoid flooding the atty. And using a drip atty is often inconvenient, especially while vaping and driving. It also requires bringing a bottle of juice along with you everywhere.

Another alternative would be a bottom feeding mod using a drip atomizer. The full flavor of an atomizer with the convenience of a built-in tank. The Reo is the most popular bottom feeder, but they are on the expensive side reosmods.com. Also consider the VMod from Vapage. VMOD 2.0 and VMOD XL

I not long ago got the below VMod-XL. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite vaping devices. When I need to feed more juice to the atomizer, I just "squonk" or give the juice bottle a squeeze thru the mod's body. The 2000mAh AW IMR 18650 battery I use gives me nearly 2 days of use. The 9 ml juice tank lasts me 3 days of use. Very pocket-friendly. What's not to like?

It sounds to me like the juice you are using is just rough on coils so frequent cleaning, replacing, or rebuilding is going to be necessary no matter which device you use. There are some things you can do to extend that time though.

You can sometimes improve the air flow and extend the life of a carto by using some "soft picks" through the center hole to scrape out some of the build up then rinsing them out and letting them dry completely. You can get them at most grocery stores and pharmacies.

Here is what they look like.

You can extend the life of ProTank heads by cleaning and dry burning those too. I have been using the same EVOD head (same as ProTank head) for nearly 3 months now by cleaning it every few days. You can also rebuild ProTank heads as well.

hey baditude I'm a complete noob when it comes to box mods and dripping, how often do you have to change the atomizers and what keeps them from getting clogged up after a bottle or 2 of juice on the vmod?

When I purchased my VMod, it was my first experience with a bottom feeder mod. It took 1 - 2 weeks for me to learn the "squonk" technique, or learning the right amount of pressure to press the juice bottle to get adequate juice fed to the atomizer. At first I was afraid of flooding it, but I got a lot of harsh vapes with it. Once I figured out to feed it a larger quantity of juice with a firmer squonk, I was good to go. One good squonk gives me 5 - 6 draws before needing another.

I'm still using the first atty that came with my VMod...two months ago. I've not found that the atty gets clogged up at all, but I'm using 50/50 pg/vg. I've been using either a dark tobacco or coffee flavor in mine. A couple of my ECF buddies use Boba's Bounty in their Reo's with no issues that I'm aware of. After about a month of daily use, I started getting a harsh vape and removed the atty and soaked it in hot water. That did the trick. Some people soak their atty's in Everclear or vodka. Whether to dry burn an atty is controversial. I haven't yet.

I suggest getting on Vapage's newsletter mailing list for coupon codes if interested in the VMod. I got mine at 40% off, and used the saved money on one of the custom sleeves - the faux wood sleeve seen in my photo.
