I have a new KSD Kmax, with an eFest 18650 battery. I have it set to power, and have it set to 8.0 watts.

i've been using an iClear 30B with the included head....2.1 I think. It vapes great....clouds of flavorful vapor.

I filled an original Pro tank....put in a new coil... Not sure what ohms, probably a 2.2. Let it sit, couple of draws without power....like I do for any new coil to get it wicking. Took a powered draw an OMG...bout ripped me a new throat....like burning dry grass. Took the PT off an put it on an ego batt....vaped just fine.

What did I do wrong?

I thought on power setting, all I had to do was set the watts I wanted to burn at....and the device would read the ohms and deliver the necessary volts automatically....is this not correct?

it works great with the iClear 30B....and it's set the same, for 8 watts.....

hmmm...... KSD Kmax is certainly hitting harder. Although it reads at certain voltages/wattages, it can be also due to built quality. I had a problem with my svd from FT once. It just hit differently even though it was at same voltage. have you tried to lower it down your wattage?

No, I took the PT off immediately and tried it on a regular ego battery, where it worked perfectly.

I should be able to vape a PT at 8 watts, shouldn't I?

I'll put it back on tomorrow and set the KSD to volts, set it for 3.5 and start from there....get it vaping correctly, then start playing with the settings in both volts and watts.

I just thought the unit would automatically sense the coil and deliver 8 watts to it.....I wonder if it was expecting the last used, and maybe I have to read the coil ohms first? Manually?
