A lot of people vape too heavily for the standard polyfill to keep up. Here are some alternatives:
Multiple PVs. Rotate through 2 or more PVs so the filler has time to wick.
Cartomizers. They can have similar problems, but they hold more liquid, and a new type that doesn't use filler is supposedly coming out soon.
Cartridge mods. There is a whole subforum devoted to modifications of standard carts that are meant to address the issue.
Juice Feeders. There are several different types of mods that have different methods of moving juice to the atty.
Drip. I drive an 18-speed semi all day, and I have been dripping exclusively (and safely) for months. I got tired of fighting with the other stuff. It's easy with the right bottle.
Yup.... This is good info.
I like cartridges... if only because you seem to collect them and they are very cheap to refill and maintain. Polyfill is inexpensive, and so is Fluval.
The wicking issues, can be resolved a couple of different ways:
1. Multiple PVs (Don't like this personally)
2. Change of vaping habits.
3. Alternative cartridge wicking material.
Personally points 2 and 3 are the ones that work for me. I stuff my own cartridges with either Fluval or pollyfill. Cap off three or so at night and I'm ready for the next day.
Another solution, for those running eG0s- get the Mega Atomizer and Mega Cartridges. Mine hold about 60 drops when dry. And the vapor production is amazing... too heavy sometimes... but I like it.
These just reflect my personal preferences.
