What do most people use ? . For the people using the fiberglass i know a cheap place to get it in bulk and that is fiberglass cloth from any automotive stores . It looks exactly the same as the wicks in a Ce2 .Makes sense since fiberglass cloth is made to absorb lots of resin . Also the strands inside reinforced packing tape . I cant see how it wouldnt be a health concern over time though . I beleive one of the hundreds of bad ingredients in analogs is fiberglass too .
Wouldnt silica be bad as well since silica is used in those moisture packs which are labeled toxic
While im asking questions on atty parts . Where can i find that black wire used in cartos to make a connection . Not the coil but the actual positive and negative black wire . Is that just coated copper craft wire ?
From what I've seen around, most people are using silica for wicks (I believe
this is one source ).
Silica GEL in what is used in the packets to absorb moisture:
From Wiki:
Silica gel is a granular, vitreous, porous form of silica made synthetically from sodium silicate. Despite its name, silica gel is a solid. It is a naturally occurring mineral that is purified and processed into either granular or beaded form. As a desiccant, it has an average pore size of 2.4 nanometers and has a strong affinity for water molecules.
Silica gel is most commonly encountered in everyday life as beads packed in a vapor-permeable plastic. In this form, it is used as a desiccant to control local humidity in order to avoid spoilage or degradation of some goods.
Because of poisonous dopants (see below) and their very high absorption of moisture, silica gel packets usually bear warnings for the user not to eat the contents.
