I finally got a coil that was what I wanted. 2.0 ohms. Problem is it doesn't wick like it should. When I do a double draw it taste like dry stainless. I'm using 400x400 stainless steel mesh and 70PG/30VG juice. Are we suppose to leave the fill screw out so they wick better. The videos I've seen all show the fill hole open. First decent attempt so any help would be appreciated very much. I've got 5 of these things and I'd like to use em. (it was a trade so what can I say). I came out on top no matter what. (I think).

Definately remove fill hole screw...it can create a vacuum in the tank. Also before you start to vape with the cap off give it a lil blow into the fill hole. Are you tilting your device. Nature of ghe beast with genesis atomizers is you have to tilt the device enough to where the liquid is touching the base of your top cap. Before you start vaping give it a tilt and check you wick. It should have a shiny wet look to it up past the coils.

It may not be a wicking issue. You may just have a coil problem. the 28g kanthal I'm using is wrapped around a small piece of cardboard which means that when I cut a piece off, it's not exactly straight. When I wrap it around my wick, those little kinks don't hug the wick the way they are supposed to. It means that if I'm not careful, I have a tiny bit of exposed wire. That's happening in one of my builds right now, I can taste the burnt metal taste and I know it's wicking fine. I took the cap off to fill it last night and messed with the coil when I should have left it alone. Anyway, you may just have a fraction of your wire that's not touching the wick.
My 30g is wrapped around a large spool (tempco) and is nice and smooth... I'm going to have to get more 28g.

If I can do it, anyone can do it LOL.. I read where a lot of people think they have wicking problems because they're getting the burnt taste when I think it's actually a bit of the coil isn't touching the wick. This is probably why the Petar K/drill bit method doesn't work for me, I can't get the wick that perfectly round and every last bit of wire hugging the wick perfectly. I do better wrapping my wick out of the device and then installing it. That way I know it's evenly wrapped and every bit of it is touching the wick. Getting the tension right on the pos post is important and tricky also.
