I got my first carto tank with a two hole carto. I used a 50/50 liquid it didn't wick well, so I tried slotting and that was a disaster. I would rather get prepunched cartos. I found three hole cartos and they're great, but they aren't as common as two hole cartos. I prefer vaping at higher wattages, and it kills my cartos faster than I'd like. I found a couple high resistance cartos but they only come with two holes. I prefer 70/30 anyway, but I found out I can't even tolerate 50/50 liquids (coughing fits) so now I only use 70/30 or 60/40. Does anyone have issues using liquids in that ratio with two hole cartos?

At the moment I'm using an eVic. It maxes out at 5v, so I can get between 10-11 watts depending on the resistance. Due to the eVic's limitations using anything above 2 ohms is kind of pointless.

However, I have a new mod coming, it's has a DNA 30 chip, so it has a range of 7-30 watts, so I plan on using high resistance cartos but can only find them with with two holes. Hopefully I won't have issues with a thinner liquid.

As far as priming I started slowly adding liquid letting it sit for10 mins or so, then adding more a couple more time, again waiting about 10 mins in between then let them set for30-60 mins. I recently started using a syringe, carefully inserting it along the side of the carto and injecting a bit in slowly, then pull syringe out repeat on other side until the top looks wet, again I let it sit 30-60 mins. Both methods, once in the tanks and filling it with liquid I would take primer puffs without firing to make sure the carto would be good and saturated before actually vaping with it. If I need to do anything else to properly prime it, tips are welcome.

I need to clarify what I said in the original post, I misspoke... or rather mistyped I guess when I said high wattage vaping was 'killing' my cartos. What I meant was they just don't produce the same or as much flavor as when they were new fresh carto, and once that starts happening I prefer to change them out (if possible), but they aren't actually dead or burnt.

It takes me no more than 10 mins to prime a carto - so you shouldn't have to let it sit. Are you getting around a ml of juice in yours?

My cartos typically have a short break in period - they crackle beautifully at the beginning, but then seem to draw even better the next day.

That said, I find custard weird in a cartotank - it seems to lose the middle flavors and leaves me with the top notes only.

My most common carto vapes are 50-50 (Absolute Pin), and Halo Tribecca (probably around 80pg/20vg). Both draw very well. I've tried several different cartos and my current ones are the Smoktech flanged 3.0 ohm which seem to work well for me.

Oh one more thing - if I don't clean the drip tips almost every day I get a weird sort of old feet smell....LOL

I realize letting it sit that long isn't necessary to prime the carto, but I am extremely impatient when it comes to lettings things set once I fill it, I burnt out a carto that way. The 30-60 minutes is more because I leave it the other room and go watch a show on TV so I don't get antsy. Yes, I get a ml or a little more in them.

Vanilla Custard is my favorite liquid, hence me wanting to have a large carto tank full at all times, but I had noticed the same thing. I just thought that's cartos, but I noticed another flavor I put in my second tank was accurate and not dulled or muted. Think I'll have to look for an alternative for Vanilla Custard. Thanks Amanda.

Thanks Baditude, that's actually where I've been ordering my 3 hole cartos. I have your vendor list bookmarked, clearly I just need to bookmark your whole blog list to save myself some time. You're kinda like the Yoda of vaping, without the whole backwards speech pattern, and hopefully not so green. :D

One question though, the cartos from smoktek.com have smoktek etched on to the cartos, where as none of the other Smok/Smoktech do. Is there any difference between them, other than the etching?

I can't say for certain, but my strong suspicion is that Smoktek (the US e-cig vendor) has his company logo engraved on the Smoktech (the Chinese manufacturer) cartos. This is a very common practice not only in the e-cig market, but other businesses, too. For instance, AltSmoke has their logo on Vision Spinner batteries and on the cartomizers/atomizers that they sell. Orbtronics use Panasonic batteries and put their own brand name on those batteries.
